Just noticed you can see the four choppers carrying the Shagohod

I take it this means that the heavily rumoured MGS Solid remake isn't going to happen?

This makes me sad as I loved the first one, enjoyed the second but didn't enjoy Snake Eater for some reason.

Master Collection Vol. 1 DOES include VR Missions, and also the two original MSX games.

Volume 1 line-up features the original titles and beginning of the METAL GEAR series:

It's a shame the HD collection version is just the default now when it has missing content.

I remember them being taken off sale a while back because they included old film footage, so maybe just that.

Aside from Snake skateboarding in MGS2 Substance, some Sony cross-over with Ape Escape, and a fighting dream sequence in MGS3, the HD versions I've got on PS3 are excellent. I sold off my PS2 copies of both as I didn't feel there was now any reason to keep them. Unless they've somehow bodged it and they run worse on current gen hardware, there shouldn't be any complaints there.

Upgrades to Metal Gear Solid would have been the big one for me, but as they don't appear to be doing anything with it, the disc copy or digital download through a PS3 is once again the way to go, unless of course you're lucky enough to own it on PC or have a CRT screen still hanging about.

Wouldn't recommend the PS1 Mini version. Not so much that it runs worse (it does, but I don't think you'd really notice) it's that having to play it using the original PS1 launch controllers is rubbish.

I’ve seen MGS 3 rumoured much more, there was a pretty reputable leak last year that said this was coming and not MGS 1 to be fair

Not to my knowledge, I’d say 2025 is likely? Feels like this was announced alongside the Master Collection just so fans don’t get angry that they’re only releasing ports of older games.

Oh if it’s 2025 I’ll grab the Master Collection. I just didn’t fancy playing MGS3 twice within 6 months. One of my fav games but I wanted the ‘new feeling’ so to speak

They've not said its 2025, but I feel like if it was coming in 2024, they'd have probably said "coming next year" when it was announced, as that'd have been at most 18 months to wait.

Movement wise, it looks very similar to MGSV, which isn't a bad thing at all as that controlled wonderfully, hopefully the third person shooting mechanics will be carried over too. For what they say is pre alpha footage it looks good too, something just looks a little off about it all though, looks almost fan made rather than something official. Not sure on Naked Snake's face either, but its early footage so will likely improve.

Unsure how the Volgin/Snake scene will carry over though..... first time through that was a hard watch on the PS2, never mind in (insert resolution of choice) with graphical effects turned up to 11 in comparison :lol:

Definitely something weird with that footage, I can't tell what it is, don't think it's the frame rate, but it feels fake, or rather, not very solid.

Honestly, it looks like a few of those fan made "here's Ocarina of Time in UE4" videos or similar, its hard to describe exactly what is off with it and I've no idea if theres a term for it or not, still plenty of time for it to be improved upon thankfully.

Fool me once, shame on me...

Expect nothing from this remake guys.

So, this is now looking like a 2024 game? Feels like thats a little too early for this, but they're obviously wanting to mark the 20th anniversary of MGS3 with this release.
