Just mopping up 100% on each level. Got one really difficult looking item to get to, tried all my tricks and unable to get it.

I’ll keep trying before I ask for help.

Played through this from beginning to end over the last four days (Saturday - Tuesday). Finished in just over ten hours on the in game clock.

For me, this doesn't reach the heights of Ori 2 and Hollow Knight, but certainly puts into perspective how average Samus Returns on 3DS was (much more linear and repetitive). I think this is an 8.5.

I feel that using the EMMIs as the main marketing gimmick was a bit of a false flag, as ultimately they were not as core to the identity of the mission as we were led to believe. Also the payoff with the final EMMI's death was bullshit.

People seem to be hugely exaggerating the difficulty of the game also. I only got stuck/lost twice in the game and used a video guide to check what I was missing before being able to progress. The bosses all have super legible attack patterns and I don't think any took me more than ten attempts.

Strengths:

- Really playable, with a rapid unlock system and that classic feeling of become more badass as Samus gets her arsenal back
- Great art direction - lovely biomes and lots of visual variety
- Well designed and very legible map
- A handful of grand, rewarding boss fights

Weaknesses:

- Repeated boss fights - all the variations on the Chozo/double Chozo warriors and the Central Units felt like filler. I beat them all first try
- Shinespark system is executed poorly - much too fiddly
- Music is rarely anything more than background noise
- A better implemented fast transport system would have been welcome

The difficulty really comes with 100% IMO and that’s just due to getting good at Speed Boosts and Shinesparks

Fin. Enjoyed that, even the end boss was fun once you worked out what was what.

Started this a few nights ago.

My biggest takeaway so far is to trust the journey the game is taking you on - I spent hours believing I'd been locked of Cataris after activating one of the thermal redirects and being confused that I was seemingly being forced to move onto the next area despite not having fought the boss for the one for Cataris.

Aaaaaanyway, I've just reached Kraid. Really impressed so far and those moments where we get drop into first-person perspective get me really excited for Prime 4.

You got this :D

I love what varrying experiences people have with this game - I struggled with most bosses but experiment was one of my favourites and I managed to beat them within my first few attempts.

Like most bosses its all about pattern recognition.
Phase 1
- They vomit pink stuff when they go to either side and pauses - go to the other side. Fire rockets where you are safe distance away.
- When they lean in they'll attack with arms - they pause for a sec allowing you to space jump to avoid.
- When they fall to the ground stand directly in front of them to avoid the pink stuff and spam hit with missiles.

Phase 2
- auto-lock onto the four claws.
- Then after you'll need to run against the force pushing you to the left and jump to avoid projectiles.
- The other attacks are as per phase 1 with an extra arm swing which you position yourself in the middle of and space jump

Good luck

Made some decent progress last night:

+Super Missile
+Plasma Beam
+Spin Boost
+Pulse Radar

Also got the final unknown item, as well as a couple of missile expansions and an energy tank.

Off to Ferenia next. My save file indicates I have found 42% of items thus far in around 8 hours of playtime, but I assume the timer resets when you die because I've played it for probably close to double that.

I'm looking forward to exploring all the areas with the pulse upgrade.

Correct. It also doesn't count when you pause I believe.

Well done mate. I love the learning curve with this game - you get to a point where a bit that seems impossible just clicks. I bet now you've done it once you would be able to do it first time, everytime.

Theres a boss you get to towards the end of the game, which I really disliked but now its one of my favourite bosses in any game. I've got save file right before this particular boss and often replay now I've mastered it.

Hope you're enjoying the rest of the game.

I figured it out but I just kept ballsing up which was frustrating.

I'm on the next EMI just need to figure out how to kill it but not really had chance to try yet.

It will feel like an achievement when I finally finish this game!

I'm up to the gold chozo soldier.

I think then it's the final boss fight!

I have 7 purple energy bars, 87 rockets 2 power bombs. Is that enough for the final battle?

I've got 100% items and am at the end now. My game is paused outside what I presume will be a boss battle in Hanubia.
