Saved yourself with that one mate.

To be fair though, of all the 2D Metroids, Return of Samus was always the "weakest", but it always had it's charm and it was the first game in the series I ever played. I re-played it through on the Super Gameboy and completed it for the first time last year and it's still fun, just a bit different from the other games in the series.

Plus it introduced a lot of things that are staples of the series now such as the "Ball shoulder" look (So you could tell the difference between the suits on the monochrome GB), Spiderball and the various Metroid varieties.

I didn't expect any "essential" review scores, but I'm still really looking forward to it and hope to have it polished off in time for the SNES mini so I can dive straight into the "proper" 60hz version of Super Metroid for the first time.

Get it digitally and free yourself from physical clutter.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

How could I have been so blind? The answer is always more anime figures!

Thank you for your sage advice.

I may well have to cancel my legendary edition but alternatively I may well sell it on at cost. Depends how this month goes.

What's the release date again?

Edit: 15th. They'll take payment probably the 13th. Yeah nope, there's no way I can afford it. Does anyone want to come to an arrangement before I cancel?

It's the legendary edition and both amiibo preordered directly with the Nintendo UK store.

14.98 each including P&P. That's exactly what Nintendo charged me.

Hold up, I might just be able to hold onto the squishy Metroid :( I need to run through my finances and find out exactly what I can and cannot afford, but there's no way I can afford a £90 whack on stuff I don't need. So the legendary edition is almost certainly going, and I already have a Samus amiibo thanks to Secret Santa

I mean, it's a squishy metroid. Damn I hate being poor

And part of the reason is I just wasted money on a bailing work experience kid. fml

Another thing I can do is use methods I'd rather not and then sell them on again at cost after a couple weeks to see if things pan out. I really wanted a present to myself for once. :x

At least that way I can get a cheeky play but the game would be 100% mint.

Try and get the Legendary Edition - I'm sure you'll be able to sell it within a day for £40 or so profit - and with that, your finances will have a slight boost :)

Forget 40 quid. It's going upwards of £120 which is insane.

Here's a cracker. My card details expire this month and my bank haven't sent me a new card. I've contacted Nintendo and they've said they can't do anything. Seriously? You can't think of or have no way to collect £90 from a customer? Great work!

It's inevitable it will happen for preorders that span such long lengths of time.

My girlfriend has helped me cover the amiibo as she felt bad about it and apparently it was going to be an anniversary present anyway if I hadn't already bought it (no way would she have been able to buy it anywhere though).

So now it's just a case of finding the rest of the money to sell on the legendary edition. It's something I don't want to do, but I bought the game absolutely in genuine interest and I got strawberry floated over.

But I'm probably not going to be able to get this because of a strawberry floating stupid technical failure by Nintendo to provide basic shop management options. Why can't you add a payment method to your account?

Recently when I ordered something a shop just emailed me saying they were unable to take payment because funds were low. I just sorted it the same day. Nearly every proper company ever can take payment over the phone or have some way to update payment information without cancelling your order. Which is what Nintendo have suggested I do.

I think I will probably have to wait until next month to play this. It's a choice between this and Dishonored, I'm picking Dishonored.

If it does sell for £120 on eBay, then it would be about £40 profit.

The game costs 59.99, eBay are going to noble you £12.50 on seller fees, PayPal are going to hit you with a couple more quid, and it's going to cost about a fiver to send it off.

The excess fees are murder these days.

I agree - eBay has become a bit of a joke with the fees - and then they force you to pay Paypal and it's a double whammy. It barely becomes worth selling for some items...

That's nuts...

It's the best business model ever though - get the customers to do all the hard work - buying, selling, storing items, posting items etc, and let the money roll in!

It's insane when you think about it. Plus, eBay too often takes the side of the buyer in disputes.

I've had some horrendous experiences with eBay where buyers have tried to commit fraud on me, and when things go wrong for sellers, they're just not interested.

This is why I don't tend to sell on eBay any more - just use it to buy the odd retro-game
