I get it that people wanted a true 2D Metroid, but The way I see it, Nintendo are just having a go at expanding the franchise, much like they do with Mario. So it's not a traditional Samus game, but then Mario Tennis isn't a traditional Mario game either.

If you take it for what it is: a decent, good looking, well polished game with some really good controls then you'll enjoy it. It's a bit daft to not play it just because it's not a regular Metroid.

That's as good as a summary I've seen!

I'm a few missions from the end now and looking at my current top ten of games I've beaten this year it's easily going to sit in the top 10 (of 30+) but ironically probably not going to get past Axiom Verge in 5th!

Was pulling your leg. ;)

Honestly I'm looking forward to one day playing this with Dragon, Pedz and co. They just need to sort out whats happening with Triforce Heroes first.

Its a shame you cant stream from the 3DS. We could call the series The Triforce Twats.

I've just finished this and the last few missions clinched it for me: I think this is my game of the year so far.

Other than one dodgy and frustrating mission in the middle, I don't really have any negative points about the game. The gameplay was varied and fresh, the online works well and was very stable throughout, the story was decent and felt epic by the end, the bosses were great and it definitely didn't outstay it's welcome.

It's sad that people are willing to miss out on this just because it wasn't what they wanted from the series. I for one enjoyed seeing a diferent aspect of the universe.

I've wanted a game that lets you play as Federation troopers since I saw them in Metroid Prime 2 so I was excited :toot: when I saw it a E3 and the demo fuelled that feeling :toot:

I've only played Prime 3 and I didn't finish it (although I /was/ pretty near the end)

Unless you also count Hunters, but you shouldn't because it was bad
