Got a quidco balance that I've just chopped in for an Argos gift card so I'll be picking this up on a cart.

Just reached Phazon Mines, was I supposed to get a power up in the Frigate? I got through it with my Gravity Suit and was expecting a power up but just reached the elevator to the mines.

So are people sticking playing Prime? Or opting to jump into Fusion instead? :toot:

I’m definitely sticking with Prime, hoping to finally try Super Metroid before playing Fusion again though, I feel I really need to at least play it once, I have noticed how the 100% item version is on the SNES app, however I have no idea if you still need to beat the bosses on that one to progress or if effectively you can just run and gun it to the final boss? If you still need to beat the bosses I’d be tempted to go for this one, as while it’s probably not a popular opinion, having a NG+ on Metroid Dread would have been very neat in my opinion, especially if you could activate the Metroid Suit in boss/mini boss fights and absolutely wreck them

Just reached the Space Pirate Frigate anyhow, think this was the next place after grabbing the Gravity Suit.

Edit, now into the Mines of Moria Phazon Mines, I had it in my head I had a couple more upgrades when I came here the last time I played it, or definitely the grapple beam at least.

Bloody hell, Phazon Mines must be the hardest part of the game so far, abundance of pirates and no save points in between the beginning and getting the Power Bomb  I just made it through after dying once.

Luckily made it on my first try :datass: While I appreciate it’s meant to be a test of your abilities, I don’t think there would have been any complaints if they’d put a save point in even at the start of the second level  Just got the power bomb, kept electrocuting myself in that maze which was nervy :dread:

Think there's a missile expansion and energy tank in the frigate but nothing else. It's just the route to the mines.

Beat Thardus. Now I need the ice beam. Heading towards that, then I had to start work.

The controls are getting a bit complicated to remember. I might switch it back to GameCube type. I keep making mistakes.

Back on this a short while just now, exited and re-entered the mines (now complete with X-ray visor), picked up my 2nd (well first as I think you get one when you get to the site detailing where they all are?). Think next item is the heat beam (or whatever it’s called in this, can’t actually remember) and then onto the Phazon Suit?.

Plasma Beam.

And yes, re: your spoiler.

One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

Then running around, finding all the artefacts and the energy tanks while obliterating the local wildlife à la Xenoblade Chronicles :toot:

Not too fussed if I don’t find all the missile expansions but the energy tanks have always been a must for me.

X-Ray visor, Grapple Beam and Plasma Beam get, had a real annoying moment early where I need to Power Bomb an area but I had none left and could not get ammo to drop. Had to traverse far away to eventually get a drop :?

On my way to get the Phazon Suit next, then it will be time to go and collect the Artefacts I guess

Since this, I have managed to get Super Missile and Thermal Visor. I think it's going along nicely now and I definitely cannot remember most of it this time. I did play it on the GameCube and I felt I didn't go very far back then.

Got the Plasma Beam and Flamethrower, hopefully I’ll find a save point into level 3 of the mines and leave it there for today.

Edit, nope I died on the Phazon

Wave beam acquired and met some space pirates tonight. For some reason they scared me, wasn't expecting them.

Attempting to get further into the mines, again :fp: Made the same error as yesterday, fell into the pit where the artefact is and that took a chunk of health off me

Omega Pirate down on the first try :datass: What about scanning the Phazon Suit upgrade though? :dread:

Edit, gone back to make sure I’ve got all the hints for the artefacts scanned off before I start looking for them alongside getting the last 3 (I think) energy tanks, know where one is for definite.

All Artefacts are now mine, also got all the energy tanks :datass: think I am missing 1 missile upgrade but not too fussed about searching for that

Guess it’s time to take on Ridley…
