Yeah it is surprisingly easy to get lost in this, probably more so than the 2D games, the map is loads better in the 2D offerings! Although I was glad to see the hint system in this was quite quick to prompt you, even if you were already on the right track.

What upgrades have you got? Guessing you need to be going for the X-Ray visor, which is in the Chozo Ruins somewhere.

Yeah you need to back track and grab the X-Ray visor then, that allows you to progress through that room, deeper into the mines.

As much as I loved this game back in the day, I'm finding it verging on unplayable in handheld mode due to the brightness. I'm fairly early on but there are rooms where I'm struggling to see a platform. Maybe it's old man eyes.

Depending how far into the game you are, you might just need to pick up the X-Ray Visor? ;)

Well I absolutely blasted that.

It's a LOT shorter than I remember, but I was something between 11 and 14 the last time I played it. I also don't have time for waste anymore and online 'list' guides (Thanks Jazzem) were absolutely great for finding the items.

The first time I 100% on gamecube (second or third playthrough). I remember following a little 'Cube' book guide. I loved it!

It took me 12.5 hours with the tickoffable IGN guide for the items, I didn't track the scans so much, but because of this missed ONE . An aqua drone somewhere on the crashed frigate.

I'm now speed running it on hard mode, i'll grab my aqua drone scan and then charge to the end. Currently 2hr15 mins in and just done Thanos; rapido! (giant rock monster where you get the spider ball who's name i know definitely isn't Thanos).

I lowkey prefer Frigate to Phendrana for beauty - the music with those rippling arpeggio things is gorgeous and that piano drop after the eerie music corridor

(also the snowfall in Phendrana is less thick and dense in Remastered)

I'm playing this and just finished the intro section.

In the original Metroid Prime on GameCube, did charging your power beam fire off three shots like it does in MPR? I thought it was only one. Am I wrong or have they changed it?

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:
