Wonderful game. I still have mine, got so many great memories of playing 4 player on it with my multitap.

Wasn't it hard to play with 4 controllers at the same time?

Not really, you'd all be sat right up against a 14" crt anyway so the few feet of controller cable you had wasn't really an issue. Plus you were in striking range to dish out dead arms

Is that a joke about me not having any friends?

Because it's stunningly accurate these days :(

I enjoyed V3 on the Playstation and have fond memories of playing Mashed (different series I know) with friends on the PS2. I didn't get Toybox Turbos but I enjoyed the demo of it. This seems like an ideal game for the Switch so I'm surprised there's no mention of a release, but I'd imagine one will come at some point. Not sure I'd buy a Micro Machines game these days (generally don't do multiplayer) but it's good to see the series back.

I've pre-ordered this. I'd hate for them to run out of digital copies on launch day. :shifty:

£22.50 on the store. I didn't even look for physical copies, in fairness.

Edit: £20 at Tesco and Argos.

Assuming the game is decent then £20 seems a good price.

I am a tightwad though, so will probably wait for a sale.

I expect this will become a fixture on Steam, but does it support LAN? I'll also miss the top down perspective even if, to be honest, it made the game bloody hard unless you religiously studied the tracks and played it more like a memory game than a racer.

The pew pew tanks have always been great.

I also have V3 on PS1, great one to crack out now and then.

So has anyone else bought this...game mode options seem a little sparse.

I've bought it; won't get to explore until later this evening. How sparse are we talking? What options are there?

No single player for a start.

There's a review on Eurogamer now that goes into more detail.

Also I assume it must be there, but I couldn't see any obvious way to setup a private online multiplayer game last night, I might just have been missing something obvious, but I couldn't see it at first glance.

That's a bit crappy. I don't mind playing online, but sometimes it's nice just to play a game against the computer.

:fp: That sinking feeling when you pre-order a game on good faith alone.

The part in bold worries me most; I have a date with some mates tonight to play this. I hope it's not a disaster.

Same here. FFS.

That's a shame as I 100%'d Toybox Turbos. Might just play through that again.

A lot of this game is recycled assets from Toybox, anyway.
