I'm looking for a microphone to use for stuff like narration, voice over and possibly live streaming (something I can use for work and recreation). I'm just wondering what would be a good mic for something like that? Ideally something that will overall cost me no more than £50 with the required cables.

Samson C03U is studio grade mic with 3 pickup patterns for picking up vocals, 2 people in figure of 8 or omni-directional for room micing, very low noise and extremely sensitive, comes with a copy of Sonar and miniature mic stand, shock mount available: http://www.amazon.co.uk/SAMSON-MICROPHO ... amson+c03u

A shop sent me one by accident (I ordered the XLR version), I also have the XLR version for years but actually kept the USB because it is useful to have a mic around that doesn't require any extra hardware. I've had many opportunities to pick up another mic but have never justified the need to. It's my only condenser mic. The entire thing is diecast metal construction, I've dropped it loads of times.

I agree about the blue yeti.

We use one at work and it's superb. Great sound quality.

Is blue yeti worth spending £88 on when I can get the snowball for £40? I was only planning on spending £50 at the most.

Sorry, I meant to say we have the snowball microphone.

I hadn't checked the link above and assumed it pointed to the snowball mic.

So yes, I think you'll be impressed.
