I would have if it you didn't edit your post to include a whole new line of text

I really think that MS could knock out 10, 20, 30 or whatever amount of new games coming this year and some of you would still be of the opinion that their line-up is lacking.

I don't think that is true at all. I want to see some evidence that Microsoft are still dedicated to making quality exclusive games and not mediocre sequels like Fable. MS are really have to impress if they want the to win over the hardcore with Kinect, I don't mean making a on the rail shooter either of existing franchises either. If there is one thing you can say for Sony they do a hell of a job creating new, exciting exclusive IP for their consoles

I changed it to reflect what I actually meant, I know theres no real 'evidence' of anything at the moment, but thats not what I was getting at.

Like I said, I don't think it matters what MS do, some people have made their minds up and nothing will change them.

God, this game could cause so many issues. Yeah there's the Halo 4 beta, but it's probably going to fragment the Halo community even more. If they want it to succeed they'd make the multiplayer component EXACTLY like it was in the PC version, they'll also NOT use Halo:Reach's art style either.

I'm struggling to see how the multiplayer will work to be honest.

I thought they might go down the ODST road and bundle in an extra disc with Reach's multiplayer, all the DLC released so far and maybe a few new maps.

ODST  didn't sell as well as the other Halos though, so they may be thinking it needs an original multiplayer mode to really shift units? Personally I hope they use Reach's multiplayer, but add 10 or so maps from Halo CE and PC.

Nonsense. They have just as much existing IP development as MS do.

Theres a slightly different focus on new IP between Sony and MS, but really this generation has seen plenty of new IP for 360. Gears is a new franchise, Crackdown was new, Alan Wake is new, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Kinect Sports all new MS owned IPs this generation. Then we've had Bioshock, Mass Effect and Dead Rising, granted all multiplatform now, but originally all 360 exclusive new IP titles that MS must have done something to get exclusive while they were.

What has Sony had new that was really good? Uncharted, Heavy Rain, inFamous, LBP, Resistance and Motorstorm. I think thats all the 'big' ones that are new.

So a few more perhaps, but hardly worthy of damning MS and praising Sony really.

I'm going by now not in the past. I'm not knocking Microsoft of old, they used to have a fantastic output but what resembles anything close to the likes Lost Odyssey or Blue Dragoon in the past, what, 3 years? It still puzzles me as to why Microsoft decided to let Mass Effect escape them. A Triple A title in the truest sense of the word and that let it get on a rival platform. Even a game like Gears Of War 3, as much as I look forward to I'm not excited by it. I know exactly what I am going to get and that is what Microsoft is missing. When have we seen anything come close to Heavy Rain? It seems all they have to do these days is slap the name Halo on something and milk off that franchise

When it comes to the PS3, you're forgetting titles like Flower, Journey, Pixeljunk on top of what you said

Microsoft could blow the competition out of the water come Monday but going by what we know and what is actually fact I have every right to come into the conference cautiously

So what new IPs do Sony have to show at E3 then?

Those are all downloadable games, I could name a tonne of new IP XBLA titles MS has published.

Well they won't...because they've got no new hardware. Take hardware out of the picture and I don't think there would be much in it.

Come now, it's not a question I can answer. If Sony come out with a load of tripe I'm sure I'll be just as harsh on them as I currently am being on Microsoft. Who know's what they have up their sleeves what with the release of NGP around the corner. What I can say though that each company has the chance to prove a lot of people wrong.

So take NGP out of the picture and they probably haven't got many or even any new IPs to show for big retail titles...just like MS.

I just think people are being overly harsh towards MS, while giving Sony a bit of a pass.

I really don't know how you work that one out. Are there less new IPs now than there were earlier in the 360s life? Of course there are, just like the PS3.

The only think I'm interested about at Microsoft's conference is Gears 3. Can't say I'm looking forward to a Halo game in which I have to fight the strawberry floating Flood again, one of the main reasons why I liked ODST and Reach better than the others.

Beautiful Katamari - sequel gone PS3 only

I just hope they announce some new games which don't require an 80 pound add on. Surprises.

I don't get it, you want more sequels? My post was talking about what original IPs 360 has seen this generation.

Halo, Gears, Fable, Forza, PGR...all had multiple sequels this generation. Its in line with what Sony have done.

My point is that the majority of exclusives have gone multiplatform or are dead (like PGR. PGR is dead). The holy quartet of Forza Gears Halo & Fable have been well served with sequels? Well no gooseberry fool, those are the only franchises Microsoft cares to keep on producing. The variety has died completely. They need new IPs to replace the dozen or so that have vanished.
