Biggest news from today is that SteamVR will be supported to some degree. Didn't expect that to happen outside of some sort of ReVive type situation.

Eh, these are selling for $350.

That's the VR version not the super fancy AR version.

They're all AR, hence the cameras. The only difference Hololens has is that it's not tethered to a PC.

Are VR games even available to Pre-order on the XBox store?
Has anyone tested the difference between the XBone and OX using these as surely with this being out so soon this stuff is kind of important to know.

The Xbox plans have been scrapped, they want to focus on PC VR.

However they've announced that it'll be compatible with SteamVR games just like the Vive.

It's only been announced for Windows 10 so far. Their aim is to create a VR standard on PC with multiple hardware manufacturers competing.

If they can make Xbox Scorpio compatible then it'd be a huge bonus.

I can't see why they wouldn't, they literally said Scorpio will deliver True VR in the Scorpio announcement.

No you weren't right, and once again Phil Spencer has been proven to be a lying sh1t.

Yep.
When it said Halo VR I thought "This is going to be amazing" and within the space of 30 seconds I got bored out of my mind and realised that it's a pile of utter horseshit.

Here's a not to game designers, if you're going to try and excite me about a game try doing something a bit more exciting than standing in the same spot and looking at stuff. I can do that any time I like and I don't need a VR headset.

The game itself has about as much to do with Halo as Tetris does.
Slapping a Halo name of a Forza car is closer to Halo than that.

I hope Sony copies the design of the controllers when they replace the PS4 move controllers.

Hopefully Dual Shock 5 will have a "break apart" design negating the need to fork out for separate Move controllers next gen.

Samsung HMD Odyssey just released in America and the reviews are good

https://uploadvr.com/review-samsung-ody ... -headsets/
Overall, the Odyssey sits among the best VR headsets on the market offering a resolution improvement not visible in a Rift or Vive today, and greater convenience in setup. With Vive Pro likely to require a hefty premium, Odyssey’s integrated audio and microphone combined with a boost to visual quality make it a tempting purchase for the near future.

https://www.windowscentral.com/htc-vive ... ng-odyssey
After putting these two headsets side-by-side, it's clear that competition will be stiff. Samsung Odyssey is no doubt the device you'd be most likely to call "pro" out of all WMR headsets, and its specs are mostly on par with those of the Vive Pro.

For any current Vive owners, there will be an upgrade wave that lets you get your hands on a Vive Pro to use with the original lighthouses and wand controllers. Later this year, however, it's expected that a full bundle will be made available to everyone. There are still no set prices.

As for the Odyssey, it's available now for about $500, motion controllers included. Considering the original Vive is still priced at about $600, it's hard to believe that the Vive Pro will be able to compete with the Odyssey when it comes to price.

On a budget and can't wait for the Vive Pro? The Odyssey is definitely the best WMR experience you can get.
