Midnight Club Los Angeles aims to deliver even more gaming goodness through the R* Social Club by offering a host of new ways to immerse yourself in the non-stop driving, customizing and racing when you're away from your console. With online tournaments, video content creation and sharing, rich stat-tracking capabilities, and the chance to unlock the powerful Audi R8 in the game, joining the Rockstar Social Club will complete Midnight Club Los Angeles experience.

http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/

The Driving Test - complete a series of in-game challenges as you play Midnight Club Los Angeles, as you work towards three different classes of driver's licenses. Each class of license unlocks a different in-game item -- the Class A license exclusively unlocks the ultimate prize, the red hot Audi R8.

Rate My Ride - Midnight Club Los Angeles boasts an incredible array of customization options, from rims and custom paints to wide body kits and custom parts – the choices you can make in personalizing your vehicle are nearly limitless. The next step is to share your creations with your friends, and find out how you rank. Upload your vehicle in-game, and it will be added to a constantly changing display of rides up for review. View the selection in game or via the Social Club, vote for your favourites and see where your ride ranks on the worldwide leader board. In-game you also have the opportunity to purchase your favorite vehicle designs.

Hollywood Auto - This is the place to size up your next in game purchase. All of the cars and motorcycles from the game are available for your perusal online in the showroom. Here you can see which ones statistically are most popular, most driven and which have won the most races online. You can also download beauty shots of your favourite vehicles from the in-game collection.

Screenshot Gallery - You've explored the camera mode, snapped glossy close-ups of your custom vinyl designs, captured awesome crashes and posed your favourite vehicles in front of all those breathtaking Los Angeles vistas. Now upload them to the Social Club, where you can organize your shots and share your selects with all of your friends.

Player Profile - Keep an eye on your personal stats, and those of your friends, through the Social Club's Player Profile system. Your profile is fully customizable: choose which stats you want to display, personalize the page layout's theme and decorate with your favorite screenshots.

Multiplayer Leaderboards - Incredibly deep leaderboards and stat tracking means you can see how you and your friends stack up in almost every conceivable way at any time of the day. Get ready for competition on a whole new level.

And that's just the beginning. There's much more to come, including a hosted tournaments series, the LA FM music player and the exclusive Midnight Club Los Angeles screenshot music video generator. Look for additional content and enhanced user features to be added to the Rockstar Games Social Club experience regularly, in support of Midnight Club Los Angeles, Grand Theft Auto IV and many future Rockstar titles to come. Make sure to check back regularly to see what's new.

Been tracking this for a while now and I reckon it looks good. So, I wondered, is anybody else tracking this or is Need for Speed going to dominate AGAIN this year?

Midnight Club 3 dub edition had awesome racing physics. If it's an evolution of it, I'm in.

Any reviews appeared for this yet? As much as I want to buy everything that comes out at the moment I'll probably just end up borrowing the work copy for a weekend.

IGN review - http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/921/921784p1.html

The game marks the series' first appearance on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and with it comes some pretty impressive visual work, very cool uses of scale and an extremely quick racing experience. The game has a whole lot going for it, and racing fans would do well to check it out. However, it's not perfect, with a few bumps in the road here and there that keep it from being the undisputed king of the streets. Contender though? Most certainly.

Midnight Club: Los Angeles is a great racing experience with a few mars on its paint job. The cars handle fantastically, the city is nearly perfect, the GPS stuff is awesome and customizing your ride is great. It is way too hard, however, even right from the start. Rep points help to make sure you progress even if you can't win anything, but it's annoying to keep coming in at the end of the pack and rarely nabbing the top of the podium. Fans of street racing, and especially the Midnight Club series in general, will find a lot to like here, but don't expect an easy time on the streets.

8.5

I'm gonna take a punt on this.

It sounds good. I won't be picking it up this year though.

I've sent discs back to LoveFilm and have just this and Saints Row 2 in my rental list. Hopefully they'll send me this in time for release.

Only an Audi R8? When are we going to get a game that offers the Bugatti Veyron as the ultimate car?

Need for Speed Pro Street already offers that car in a DLC pack. Doesn't exactly handle like a super car though, I'm afraid.

Well it clearly doesn't represent the Veyron then, does it?

Did anyone get this yet?

I'm thinking of buying it tomorrow and I'm wondering if there are any good supermarket deals on it.

I've had a quick go, it's pretty good and those reviews would be fair. I've always prefered Midnight Club over Need for Speed, and this one is no different.

It looks gorgeous, and the camera seems to be able to zoom in and out of the city with no problems. No slowdown that I've noticed either.

Handling is arcadey, similar to previous ones and NFS titles.

Online is solid, I've had a few quick goes and not noticed any latencey issues.

Only minor for me so far is the advert placement. Pizza Hut, T Mobile and iPod have taken me out of the game and made me :fp:

I think this will be overlooked in the rush of decent games coming out. Bad timing if you ask me. Had this arrived a few months ago im sure it would have generated interest.

This!

It's a good game, so even if you don't have time for it now then pick it up for Christmas, or after the New Year.

Doesn't seem to be many driving games out though that I've noticed, so some people shouldn't find it hard to find the time for this.

I loved Midnight Club 3, much preferred it to the Burnout series and the like.

I may even make it the first game I've bought since Civ Rev in June...even over Fable 2

Well the GAF seem to like it, they certainly thing it look gorgeous and the customisation is pretty cool. Main complaint is the rubberbanding A.I. and the difficulty level. Is it rock'ard?
