They said it's to filter out bot accounts or something. They mention it in the FAQ.

The new version isn't just an upgrade, it's a completely separate version. So if I understand it right, disc owners will be able to download the new (digital) version, and not need the disc any more. So you can see why they would limit its use to some degree.

I guess it also means the new version will have a separate set of achievements. EDIT: Yes, it does.

Nice. My Windows 10 version has updated as well.

I've used the 30 day free trial to set up a GRcade realm.

Anyone playing on PC, Android or iOS can PM me to get the invite link. It will automatically add you to the whitelist when you click it (You'll need to have an XBL account, but that's free).

The BT thing is showing up on my kids Xbone as £16.79. He has a disc. Any idea how to sort it? He's had DLC and put in well over 5 hours.

I think it has to be 5 hours in the last 12 months. Might explain it.

A: You’ll need to log into Xbox Live (no need for gold) and insert the disc. You can either wait for the prompt once the game starts or go to the Xbox Store, where you’ll will find the new version of the game. If you’ve either played five hours in the last 12 months, or have bought DLC at any time, the new game should show up as free to download. If not, you can fulfill either of the conditions above before January 30th 2018 and then come back to the store to download. Please be prepared for a short wait, though - as it may take us a few days to process all the redemption requests.

Digital version was gimped the same way till yesterday, maybe it will fix itself later.

The new version looks better, I can't tell if that's the case but certainly the water is vastly different.

I'll join the realm tonight...whats the craic like? we all just playing survival together? (I'd like that).

I guess I'll be buying this at some point, I have the 10 version but the Xbox one would be better.

I noticed this as well. Looks bluer almost.

I sent you an invite to the Realm last night man. Can you let me know if you have any issues getting onto it.

I've got a basic hut with a Bed, Chest, Crafting Table and Furnace built but that's all so far. We can shop around for different maps if we don't like this one though.

I've just set it to Normal difficulty, survival.

As I said if we don't like the map then we can start a fresh one. But we'll see how we feel once we've got a few members. Can have up to a few hundred members, but only 10 players (11 including myself as the owner) can be on at any one time.

Might be worth setting up a channel on the Discord server as well. I'll look into that tonight or some point over the weekend.

I just joined and jumped off as I had to get the shopping in and do other stuff.

We can work on securing the spawn area over the weekend. There's a nice mix of stuff nearby. Plenty of trees and animals (Including Horses) around, some caves and massive holes in the ground which look like they lead to some interesting deep areas. Probably gonna be worth digging deep there. Not too much sand though, so might need to venture further for that, but I've not really done anything beyond create an initial shelter.

I'm happy for people to take the lead on this because as far as I'm concerned this is everyone's Realm. I'll look into the various admin options we have as well and dish out a few roles at some point too.
