Man, these price increases on the Apple iOS store are huge! Okay, 79p to 99p doesn't seem so bad, but titles that were £4.99 are now all £6.99! And something like Football Manager Touch has jumped from £14.99 to £19.99!

Perhaps the mobile bubble will burst? I guess not... even though publishers only make money from a tiny percentage of players, I guess enough folk will pay the higher prices to make it worthwhile.

...and Super Mario Run has jumped aboard the price increase train; it now costs £9.99 rather then £7.99.

The cost increases that Apple is implementing are relatively huge for mobile gaming. Personally, I find mobile gaming to be akin to searching fior a gem in a haystack. There are some good - even great - titles out there but I find that I can rarely be bothered to wade through the dross and avoid the money-grabbing stuff in order to find them.

I believe you may be highlighting a gem there, Mafro! I'd never heard of Dandy Dungeon... but Destructoid love it and it's made by the guy who delivered Little King's Story :) .

I think it's out now so I'll give it a look. Thanks, dude :toot: .

Anyone play Idle Heroes ? It's kept me hooked for about 50 days.

It's pretty basic to start with but has a lot of things that need doing daily and has a cool community.

Arkanoid vs Space Invaders is out now on iOS and Android. It looks pretty neat and, apparently, doesn't have micro transactions.

Edit: TouchArcade have given it a good review... four quid, loads of levels, no "micro" transaction pony - this is proper mobile gaming!

Picked up RCT Classic on Android earlier this month. I was skeptical about how the controls would work on a touch screen but its reviewed well, I love RCT and I feel like having a "proper" game on my phone. I have to say it has not disappointed, it is a top notch port that is packed with RCT goodness. Its a kind of combo pack of 1 & 2 so you get all the parks and all the rides from both games, there is a lot of game here for the money. The controls have been rethought to suit touch based play and they work pretty well, some of them are a bit fiddly, especially when building paths or benches but its not that frustrating and its the kind of thing that goes away if you have normal sized fingers or a bigger screen to work with. If you loved the first 2 RCT games then get on this, its fantastic.

Hmm I was not aware that there was a RCT game available on iPhones, so this is very interesting!

This in particular is how I feel about mobile gaming, the vast majority of games that I've got or had all seem to just be variations of Tapped Out or Clash of Clans, where's you're not actually playing a game but just clicking on something so that it levels up over and over and over and over ADVERT and over etc...

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned these before in another thread but the 2 Jacob Jones games are good examples of "proper" games on a mobile. They are very similar to the Prof. Layton games but a bit easier. One caveat however is that it's an episodic series that hasn't seen a new episode in quite some time, there was a huge delay between episodes 1 and 2 so I'm confident there'll be another eventually.

I also recommend Oceanhorn. It's a pretty shameless Zelda clone but it's pretty good. I haven't played a lot of it as my iPhone get's too hot while playing so I'd wager it's better played on an iPad.

I also really enjoyed Game Dev Story.

Just downloaded 80s Mania Wrestling 90s Xtreme.

It's a pretty fun card based build your own wrestling federation sim. You pick a roster of events and wrestlers for a weekly show from a set of cards, with various boosters for sponsors and feuds and so on. Your events make money, with which you buy more wrestler cards.

I'm currently on holiday which means gaming is restricted to my mobile and the Vita. I was just thinking today, why has "Rockstar ate my hamster" never been ported to mobile? I would definitely buy that. Does anyone know anything similar on Android?

Yes?

Nintendo's Dragalia Lost has finally released in the UK!

I think this is meant to be pretty decent? My appetite for mobile games has diminished to near zero, but I will download this to take a look.
