Monkey Dust was a great comedy show early in the millenium. It focussed on all the easy topics of discussion such as bestiality, murder, suicide and paedophilia. Really funny show, did anyone else here watch it?

I can't find a clip that I wanted to show you of the BBC FOUR promo of where a group of female Eastern dancers are dancing around a single girl in the middle with bollywood music playing in the background. They dance for 5/10 seconds in a wonderful show of culture.......... then they all start stoning the girl in the middle

I remember watching back when it was on tv.
Parts of it were pretty funny, but other parts were just incredibly depressing. Not even what you could call black comedy, just downright bad.

Only ever caught a few episodes back when it was on but I remember enjoying it. Thankfully found some streaming links online so I can re-watch it in it's entirety. Very strange program :)

I recall one 'sketch' about a divorced dad and his son came over, and every gift the dad gave the son would say how his new step-dad had bought something better.
Dad goes upstairs and commits suicide, then kid starts talking about how he wants to come and live with his dad because he doesn't like his step-dad.

That did and still does get me down
Not sure how that could even be considered Black Comedy to be honest.

It's a recurring sketch, where the father is disappointed and kills himself in a different way every time. It's pretty funny.

Those sketches were always among my favourites. They're very good, very powerful, especially if you watch all of them. I'd recommend watching all of them, if you can, because they wrap the whole lot up pretty well. If you don't want to, I'll sum it up. In the final sketch, it's revealed that the new step-dad, Roger, is actually Timmy's biological father. After all the previous episodes, you assume this crippling piece of news will again be the last straw. Daddy heads upstairs, and, I think, grabs a bottle of pills, but before swallowing them, looks at himself in the mirror, says "nah," then wanders downstairs to just be a dad, to a child you now realise isn't even his. When you're a bit more emotionally invested in it, having watched the rest, that's a real powerful moment.

As Smurphy points out, it's the repetition over time that makes it funny.

It's criminal they only ever released the first series on DVD.

Monkey Dust was the gooseberry fool. So many amazing sketches, and it never gets old.

That is all.

I've only seen the first series of it but I laughed my ass off!

The classically trained actor is my favourite, closely followed by the 70s guy in prison Ivan Dobskie"
