Need to grind till im HR 49 for the fated Tempered Kirin Quest. Finally got a Vaal gem after 14 hunts so now I can finish upgrading the Guard Charm. I'm hyped and ready for this Kirin. Will have to avoid getting hit once since I'll be using Nerg's armour ">,>

Looking to try out a heavy bowgun after playing around with the Legiana one in the arena. Any suggestions for which one to build first? This seems like a completely different system to get into with the ammo types and speeds.

Finally putting a bit more time in, killed Nergigante a while back and just unlocked Kushala Daora. Just farming Kadachi at the minute to get his top level bugstaff/longsword so that I can then farm Nerg more easily to get some decent Dragon weapons because the blacksteel and dragonbone trees seem a bit underwhelming at this point.
Been doing some arena quests to see how some of the other weapons have changed, still not keen on Lance and I'm going to need a lot more practice with the Bow before it works for me but Hammer and Switch Axe both seem like a lot of fun to play. Once I get further in I'll probably start building some of them to use in normal play to switch stuff up, seem to have got in the habit of neglecting my dual blades and long swords in favour of the same blast bugstaff and Charge Blade every time so I could do with a bit of a change-up.
Broadband data rolled over at midnight too so I'm going to download the patch tomorrow, didn't realise it was only 600mb. Looking forward to finally having some more lucky tickets and seeing my old pal Jho again.

Solo gunning use a gun with wyvernheart. Various ammo types are more viable now (scattter is no longer useless!) but pierce is still generally the best. Slicing is actually capable of taking off tails now too.

I have pretty much been sticking with the steel line just for versatility. The Legiana line is the best for pierce so that's good too.

Aesthetics aren't an issue as they all look bad

Recently upgraded to a Pro and tho I don't have a 4k screen to maximize the benefits, it's still pretty nice to have a much smoother experience playing the game. Especially with loading times.

Had an ace experience tonight mate came round with his ps4 and we did 8 hours of Mon hunting on two screens. Jesus it opens right up after the zorah mission. 40 hours in and out just gets deeper. Goty for me never thought I'd say that.

Recent Famitsu interview with Devs mentions new areas in future updates. Referring to the New World more of a Continent than an Island, which brings up so much more possibilities for a variety of other areas. I really hope we get some cold climate maps personally. There's also one section in the normal map that seems oddly untouched. I could see that being a more aquatic focused area if we were to ever go there.

245 hours put into this now. I'm doing tempered elder dragons and trying to finish some builds. Enjoying the heavy bow gun and using it as a shotgun.

I really struggle to hold interest with this game. I’ve dropped it so many rimes for lesser titles

PLAY | Final Fantasy VII Rebirth [92h]
WATCH | Ted Lasso S2, HiJack S1, The Apprentice S18
RACE | Westonbirt Half (March), Chew Valley 10k (June), GNR (Sept), Cardiff Half (Oct)

Aquatic area would make sense going by the main story, could be that Zorah Magdaros dying in the ocean causes some new landmass and all sorts of ecological shenanigans to investigate. Would be a good setting for a G-Rank storyline perhaps. New areas would also be a good excuse for a bit more monster/element variety, water/ice/electric are all really under-represented and it'd be good to get some crabs/bugs/snakes to go with the truckload of wyverns in the base game.
(Thinking on it, there's 7 monsters with fire and four with blast compared to two each for ice and electric and then just Jyuratodus for water iirc - seems very stacked towards burny stuff)

Quick question, is there a way to TRY and get decorations you want? I just seem to get the same 10 ones over and over again and it's making me want to stop playing.

The decorations can be swapped at the elder melder. You get 3 random ones. Find out if you want level1,2 or 3. Then trade in stuff to get them. It's hard to explain but you must always get 3 items. Never 1 or 2 as once you click ok. They throw away the other ones and it starts again . So the item you want could have been decoration 3 but since you only made 2. It's gone .

Hope that makes sense.

For decorations, I normally do a search for tempered wind dragon investigations. Join them. Flash bomb it and it's an easy fight. Then get the decorations.

The odds of getting what you want is slim as I've seen people with 4 attackk decorations and personally I've got 5 expert jewels when others struggle to get one.

Finally unlocked and finished all optional quests. Unlocked something cool for doing it too. Now just tempered elder dragon farming until the next dlc monster is released.

It's a limited time hunt which makes me weary. But I'm still hyped since we get new equipment and a new map. The gold armour looks awesome.

I'll blitz it and hopefully be able to make a full set and a few weapons. Would love a new switch axe. Hopefully some of the stats are good as most sets use the same 3 or 4 items in each build now.

More details should surface tomorrow after the stream. Curious how long this will last.

So the Relic weapons have random stats? Uhh... I'm new to all this so it's kinda confusing. Also the way to get the quest you go on expeditions to build up the research level. So depending on your level you get a set time added to the main quest. But once you complete the quest you have to do that all again? Seems like a chore ">,>
