Gravios was in 4U right? I think in the modern era of MH he seems much less of a threat now. We had to deal with so much more BS back then to hunt em' >,>

Mafro wrote:I think I've fought Dodogama twice and that's it

Especially since Dodogama is introduced much later in the game where it kinda feels out of place. I almost feel bad beating it up. I recently upgraded my Kinsect with Blast and it was not having a great time at all.

I have high hopes DLC will bring back a variety of monsters from the past. Jho is pretty safe but still cool to have. There will be a MHW stream on the 14th that will detail more upcoming stuff which should be hype.

There's a leak covered by Reddit suggesting there's at least three more DLC monsters to come after Deviljho. Those being Oroshi Kirin, Lunastra and Alatreon, plus there's another name untranslated which I think means there's a completely new monster to come as well (unless I'm missing something).
Seems unlikely that that's all we'll be getting, especially since Oroshi's just a subspecies and Lunastra is very similar to Teostra. I'd like to see some of the more unique designs like Nerscylla and Najarala make a comeback personally, plus there's fan favourites like Zinogre and Tigrex that people will be begging for.

I'm surprised Luna wasn't in already tbh. Najarala was really cool, I would love to see more Snake species as monsters in general.

The base mechanics and gameplay is so solid they could use this as the start and get a ton more added over time (Think how R6: Seige has their 'seasons').

Never understood the love for Zinogre really, he's alright but not standout to me at all.

Topping my list (alongside Gravios) would probably be Yian Garuga, Kut-ku, Daimyo Hermitaur, Gammoth, Fatalis

I'd also love an updated Shen Gaoren fight but I don't see it happening

Also a Gajalaka King equivalent to the Shakala King would be fun, on the definitely not happening side

Oh and Plesioth because I hate myself

Nah, I'm pretty proficient with the hammer and Anjaranth and any of the flying monsters with long necks are a pain in the ass. The upswing only hits them when they bend their heads down, which combined with the timing you need on the charge isn't as reliable as you'd like.

Never had a problem myself but I've got focus level 3 which decreases the charge timing.

Honestly most of my love for zinny comes from his theme music <3
I imagine Fatalis is basically a dead cert for G, it'd be a travesty not to have him in. I'd also like to see Dalamadur make a return, it's already established that they've made the elder crossing in the past seeing as there's a skeleton of one wrapping around the Rotten Vale so it'd make sense.

Tigrex
Lagombi
Congalala
Nerscylla
Najarala
Duramboros
Ivory Lagiacrus
Qurupeco
Brachydios
Gore Magala
Jhen Moran

Quite a big list I know, but I'd love any one of them in this since, other than Tigrex and Qurupeco, they're all quite different than any of the current monsters.

Well I can beat the monsters okay maf, I just don't find it as fun because you're often waiting for them to dip their heads, and also when they fall down your big bang can often miss their heads if you're unlucky because of how it flails around, happens all the time to me with Anjaranth.

Does anyone here use the greatsword? And if so what is the best raw damage great sword? I only really want to craft one to use for tail slicing.

I use the greatsword, usually the Flammenzahn. Easy enough to make, just Anjanath for the most part with a shorter upgrade tree, and packs a good punch. Poor affinity, but that shouldn't be a problem when it comes to breaking parts as a true charge will strawberry float anything up anyway.

I'm doing the endgame stuff (tempered elder dragons) so I use the Purgation's Atrocity (final sword in the Nergigante tree). Looks cool as strawberry float, lots of blue sharpness so I rarely need to sharpen it and it's got high elder seal. Crafted and upgraded a whole new mix of armour to ge the best out of it too (higher focus, affinity, attack etc)

The final Great Jagras sword is apparently meant to be the best one I the game in terms of raw damage but it looks absolutely horrible so I'm not using that :dread:

I never really found Jhen Moran or Dahren Moran that fun tbh. I'd much prefer Lao Shan Lung if we were to get another colossal "siege" dragon as DLC. Agreed on Tigrex, Brachy and Gore Magala though, and obviously it'd make sense for Shagaru to come back too if Gore were included.

Did you find attacking a target that doesn't attack back for 50 minutes fun?

I do really like Lao Shan Lung's design but the fight was a test of patience really

I just thought the whole spectacle of the Jhen Moran fight was really cool. The bit when it jumps over the boat D:

I'm.using the hammer currently, and I generally just try and thwack them enough to stun them (the mysteies of how I achieve this are currently lost to me) and then I do the level 3 charge and Circle attack where you soon around wildly for a while. I find if I aim that at the body part I want to hit while the monster flails about, I can generally crack parts off.

I did enjoy the D. Mohran fights in 4U

It makes me want a similar fight but on an airship. That'd be legit amazing

Maybe I'm just looking at it with rose-tinted glasses seeing as I haven't actually done a Lao Shan hunt in years but to me it just felt epic, same way that you two enjoy the spectacle of the Mohrans. I just found them a bit annoying, it was either running back and forth from the cannon/ballistae for ammo while hoping you didn't get hit by flying rocks and sand sharks or hopping on its back and attacking a rock.

Do agree an airship would be a pretty cool fight though - maybe Yama Tsukami or something similar. It'd fit quite well with some of the creation lore in World, makes sense that it could be the dragon that became the mountains or the forests.

You hit the head to stun the monster, that spinning attack is best for status effects. If they're knocked down you want to do the big bang combo (mash circle while not charging) on their head.
