i'd say the reason for PS4k is specifically because of PSVR.

It kills the psvr immediately. Who is their right mind is going to spend £800 just to play vr? They have also announced the psvr, so it would be stupid to announce a piece of hardware that requires a newer piece of hardware to run.

I think sony leaked the neo to put microsoft and nintendo off and its worked at the nx has now been delayed until next year! Ms will more or less kill the xbox brand if they announce the scorpio.

I agree with gamerforever. VR would be DOA without that installed userbase.

seriously... have you seen the price of other VR options (capable PC and headset). headset and console will be by far the better option.

we shall see.

i read NX is delayed for VR. i'd assume MS will reveal new hardware because of the balls up they made with the x1. i'd also assume Sony have delayed the reveal of PS4K because of what MS may reveal a couple of hours before them.

I'm not sure VR would be worth it on Scorpio. I can't see these .5 consoles having a large userbase.

Even as someone who is hugely anticipating the new version of xbox and playstation if VR I can see that if only runs in an acceptable fashion on them it will fail.

All games will run at 1080p regardless of whether it's PS4 or Neo, that's the resolution of the screen.

Bare minimum is 60fps, developers won't be allowed to have dips.

As for polygons and textures etc, check out Job Simulator on Vive, totally immersive yet it looks like an upscaled Sega Saturn game.

If it turns out it does run like garbage on PS4 then they shouldn't have released it until the install base of the Neo was at a decent level and just made it clear that it only works on that as a lot of people will buy VR with the ps4 and if it's not any good they will be rightly furious.

I've just explained why it won't be possible for PS4 VR games to run like garbage.

People are coming out with stupid theories yet all the PSVR games shown so far run great on PS4.

Apparently Amazon Spain accidentally put up a page with the release date and price.
They had it as October 13th for €399.

That would be fine with me.

So about £400-£450 then, depending on how good the £ gets in the next month or so.

As long as its not just a 4K machine I will pick one up at launch, but only if the games are genuinely improved on the new console, and not just a minor upgrade. Excited a little!

Haven't you been reading up on or watching PSVR demo impressions? The vast majority of them are positive as regards to how they run.

I'm happy with my launch PS4 but if it dies soon (which is probably going to happen) I will grab one of these bad boys. Pop in my 2TB HDD and carry on.

Don't fancy paying 400 brick for one though, hopefully it comes down in a price a bit.
