Some issues with the PC version downloading. Major issues actually. I can't play story mode, online or select Scorpion, Sub Zero or Goro and Rog is having the same issues.

Technical bugs aside, the gameplay itself is great. Johnny Cage is the best out of the 4 I've tried so far. It looks glorious and the combat feels really weighty. The animation also looks really fluid and I can't wait to get stuck in. I just hope they sort out the problems quickly so I can enjoy it fully. At the minute with so many menus greyed out it feels like a strawberry floating demo. Completely unacceptable in all honesty.

Here are some screenshots anyway.

Stuck in the ps4 disc raring to go and 1.828 gb update file required.

Crikey modern day gaming is pants, why can't a game be ready to go like back in the day?

You can play it when it downloads in the background.

But I agree, day one patches shouldn't happen.

I love the pre-fight exchanges. Such a cool touch and there seems to be hundreds of variations.

Was thinking about playing Jacqi in this, but D'vorah is so damn cool. Think I'll go with her.

Anybody know any good places to get better at this game?

PC version is finally fixed. They need to unlock the fps on x-rays though. Having fights in 60fps then switching to 30fps is jarring and ruins the moment completely.

Good news! Will give the story mode a start tonight then. But not before fighting as Scorpion!

How have people fared in Ranked Versus matches? I played 14 unranked games and won 13 then I tried Ranked...I've won 4 and lost 20 lol.

Not that it seems to matter but which faction have people home for? I went for special ops.

I went with Lin Kuei but like you said it doesn't really matter.

I went for White Lotus because I think it has the coolest background.

Anyways, I come up with this 44% combo for D'vorah, nothing special but it's nice to slowly get to grips with a character.
She seems really offensive with great range. I like her

For anyone interested it's:

Triangle, Square, Triangle
Then cancel the last triangle into the swarm thing (on swarm queen only)
Then neutral jump triangle
Then hold forward and press circle twice, and cancel the second hit into the X-ray.
If you don't have X-ray you can just cancel it into the stabby things and it'll do 30%

I was unimpressed until Goro says Goro in the chat. He is the perfect Hodor.

What I'm a little annoyed at was the story mode- within 10 minutes Id seen four characters that aren't available to pick in game- all modelled and in the game, but unable to fight as them.

Okay, I thought, just having them modelled is only half the job- they have no moves, animations, balancing- all the rest of the stuff that goes into making a character.

2 minutes later, I start fighting Tanya. A previous MK character again, fully modelled, with her own move set, voice actress (Jennifer Hale no less) and no different from a selectable character.

Except she isn't. She isn't available to pick in the game at all. DLC? Probably. Annoying? Most Definately.

Other than that i really enjoying it! I miss the 300 level iriginal challenge tower though. The living towers are all good- but I preferred the number and type of challenges of MK9's. Early days yet though!

Yeah I got to that bit in story too. MK has a lot of characters so I can understand some of them not having move sets and not being playable but for the likes of Tanya and Rain, it's inexcusable to have completed characters locked behind a DLC paywall. When I bought the season pass, I didn't realise this is what I'd be paying for.
