Cool set pieces and I think Affleck and Cavill did really well in their roles, but as a whole the film was a bit pap. I don't think they did enough to justify Lex and Batman wanting to kill Supes. I think they established why they'd both want a contingency for if he ever went evil, but there needed to be another major incident to make Batman actually feel like he needed to kill Superman.
Maybe Lex makes Superman think Lois is dead, Supes goes a bit mad and smashes gooseberry fool up, Batman sees this and thinks it's time to act.
I also think it's super-weird when they show how close Gotham and Metropolis are. Makes the distinction between the two cities seem a bit silly when you could throw a stone from one to the other.
Also, regarding the Justice League thing at the end:
I know it won't happen, but I so wish they'd leave Superman dead, I think that team is much more interesting without him and Green Lantern as they're both a bit OP. Batman, WW, Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman could be a really cool superhero team. When you add in Superman and Green Lantern it means you need to have totally insane scenarios for them to come up against, most likely an alien invasion.
Not to defend this but it seems films with a fan following drop huge in the second week as a lot see it in its first week. The Avengers for one dropped 50%.
Indeed, if he's using the 2nd avengers drop off there I heard Disney were very disapointed with it's long term stats, especially repeat viewings, so it's not really a good example of when things went right.
I saw this the other day. I'm interested in seeing the extended cut, but it still wont fix the main issues I had with it (Lex and Doomsday).
Caught this a few days ago. Thought the highlight of the whole thing was WW's theme. In such a long film you need interesting characters, and unfortunately there weren't any.

Really?! That annoyed me, seemed very out of place. It wasn't bad or anything, just didn't fit. It might work better for her own movie.
