I think what says it all about how little Snyder cares about these characters is how he introduced and killed off Jimmy Olsen, without even naming him on film, because he had no use for the character in his story (nothing wrong with that) but wanted to "have fun with him".

Despite what I said, there are a few positives in the movie. As I mentioned before, Wonder Woman is great and I would like to see Gal do her own movie. Also, bless you Affleck, you are the Batman we need but not the one this movie deserves.

The biggest sin being Jesse Eisenberg was originally going to get that part and we would have seen him die instead.

Actually the biggest sin being Brian Cranston was on the shortlist for Luther and Eisenberg got that part instead

Hopefully the BluRay cut is a lot better. Dreading what the eventual runtime of that might be though

It's Jimmy Olsen. It's not just Snyder, nobody cares.

Using Jimmy Olsen as a reason to discredit Snyder There are plenty of legitimate ways to do it if you wanted to.

Anyway, I listened to the Empire spoiler special about this where they talk to Snyder about some of his decisions (including the Olsen stuff) and it was quite good. One thing I really liked was the way he wanted to downplay the secret identity thing. It was pretty ridiculous in the old days already, but in a 2016 of Twitter and Reddit and the like, people would have this gooseberry fool figured out within 30 minutes of Superman's face being in public. I'm glad they never paid it any attention in the film. It's maybe why we saw so little of Clark Kent in the movie, also.

Movie needs to be shortened the hell up more than anything. We're never gonna get that, though.

Can someone explain why they think Affleck is so much better than Bale? I really don't see the quantum leap in acting. They were both good I guess. Maybe I'm just really put off by Batman killing people in this movie to be able to see it, personally I think Bale was better.

Saw this at the weekend, and I agree with Mark Kermode's review; much of it was uninteresting, even the fights, which descended into rapid jump-cuts of characters just punching each other. It tried to balance too many threads at once to kick off a superhero ensemble series in a single film.

Watched Supermans II, III and IV recently.

II has some pretty major issues but is still immensely enjoyable, III is a slog to get through due to being a terrible comedy and IV...well IV gets points for being short and sweet natured, even if it is a colossal blunder

I'd still watch any of them over MoS or BvS in a heart beat...
