Stock gag response, but I'll go for it anyway.

*ahem*

At least this gives the sequel a chance to be good.

Saw the trailer for Tomorrowland before Avengers today, was surprised by how good it looked.

Ryan Gosling is in negotiations to star in the “Blade Runner” sequel opposite Harrison Ford, it was announced on Thursday.

“Prisoners” helmer Denis Villeneuve is directing the sci-fi thriller for Alcon Entertainment with Ridley Scott exec producing.

Written by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, the “Blade Runner” sequel will take place several decades after the 1982 original.

Ford will reprise his role as Rick Deckard in the film, which originally took place in a dystopian 2019 Los Angeles.

It’s unknown who Gosling will play.

Excellent.

Won't this pretty much ruin the open ended viewing of the first film's end?

There have been novels (Edge of Human being the 2nd one, Replicant Night being the 3rd and Eye and Talon being the 4th) set after the evens of Bladerunner with Deckard on the run. I read them a few years back and enjoyed them.

:slol: Personally I'm totally sick of how similar all action movie trailers are these days, especially the strawberry floating Inception boom.

I love that Inception boom.

In other news apparently they've cast Pennywise in the new It films. Although he's 22 years old which seems like an odd choice.

So, IT is being remade by 'Hollywood', and apparently Will Poulter is down to play Pennywise. Initially I thought this was mental, based mainly on We're the Millers. But then I saw his IMDB picture and... maybe it'll be ok.

So, and IT remake. It's quite possibly my favourite book, and while Tim Curry gave me serious nightmares as a youngster, the made-for-TV film is definitely very dated now (I watched it again last year).

So, if it's done in a brutal way, I think it could be decent.

We all float down here, Georgie...

The book is brilliant but the TV movie was a bit shitty (other than Tim Curry who was great as Pennywise).

If they are following the book, I wonder if they will keep in the child sex orgy.

But no, seriously, it's a magnificent book. King will always be sneered at by lit snobs but he tells a magnificent story, and creates worlds like few other authors manage.

Just read that article properly and it looks like it'll be two films - when the kids were young, and then when they are adults. That makes a lot of sense to me. It's a 1,200-page book, daft to squeeze that into a single film.

I've just watched that trailer and you know what, it doesn't look half bad. I guess they had to call it Point Break in order to use the bones of the story but I'm thinking it would do a lot better without the baggage of being a remake.
