So, not strictly movie related but William Gibson (Necromancer)'s unmade Alien 3 script is getting a graphic novel adaptation:

https://variety.com/2018/film/news/will ... 202872008/

During a particularly boring stretch of work during summer holidays at uni, I sent all of the many unmade Alien 3 draft scripts to myself and spent days reading through them. They ranged from good (a thriller set in an orbital space prison) to bizarre (the notorious wooden planet draft) to terrible (Eric Red's equally notorious "Redneck spacefarmers Vs cow Aliens draft) but my favourite was always Gibson's.

He himself called it "Space commies Vs Mallworld" but it continued the action heavy tone of Aliens and vastly expanded the universe, bringing Cold War paranoia in to play as the communist UPP and hypercapitalist Weyland-Yutani fought for control of their version of nuclear power: the Alien. It'll be fascinating to see it realised, if only on the page, and might lessen the sting of losing Neil Blomkamp's recent attempt to reboot the series.

I wish this happened more with old versions of movie scripts. Dark Horse did a comic adaptation of one of the early Star Wars drafts a few years ago http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/The_Star_Wars

It's amazing that they completely fail to make the Terminator film we all want which is the bloody war seen in the clip with the robot crushing the skulls.

The reason the first two Terminator films did so well - I think - is that they only used this imagery sparingly, and left the audience wanting more. Terminator isn't about the skull-wars, it's about the increasingly desperate attempts to stop the skull-wars, and I'm really hoping this one moves back in that direction.

Bollocks :x

“Creative differences” sounds like a code for pricks in suits / studio interference who don’t have a clue to make a film. They should of left him alone & let him make the film he wanted to make.

Yeah you're probably right, but the 10 year old in me wants to see that 3 hour future war epic

I thought the Meg was enjoyable. I haven't read the books so no idea how good/bad it is in comparison.

I'm not going to see it because the name reeks of Family Guy parody.

Just finished watching it and was majorly disappointed with it. So gooseberry fool that it had been toned down to make it suitable for young'uns. Nowhere near as good as the book.

Yeah that trailer is a hell of a lot better than the others, mainly because there's zero footage of the stupid child substory.

Hopefully they cut it out of the film entirely.

It's Shane Black. I haven't seen a film of his that hasn't had at least some great moments.
