The problem with rebooting the Predator series is everything that made Predator great has been copied a million times since and would now be seen as hackneyed. I thought Predators did some interesting stuff but Adrien Brody was the wrong choice to lead that film.

I'm giving Shane Black the benefit of the doubt for now but I agree with you in principal, I like Predators because like the original it keeps the plot minimal and is about people with guns versus aliens with guns (and cloaking). These films are about cool see pieces and being carried by the actors; say what you will about Arnie's acting but you can't fault the guys screen presence.

The Predator looks like a bad parody of the original and the genre. Predator Movie would have been a more apt title.

Never said it was a remake, was just saying it looks even worse than the last Robocop reboot in terms of totally ignoring the tone and themes that made the original film good in the first place.

Robocop was originally a violent tongue in cheek commentary about authoritarian corporate police states yet the reboot completely ignored that aspect and just became a by the numbers Action Blockbuster.

And Alien was a slow burning horror film followed by a reimagining of the franchise as a Vietnam war film.

There's many criticisms to be leveled at that trailer but 'it's not the same as the first film' isn't one of them.

Looks so bad. I thought that Fuzz show (muppet buddy-cop sitcom) on netflix was pretty dull, and that looks even worse

Avenue Q is the only decent "adult" muppet thing.

Bohemian Rhapsody looks wonderful, but that Muppet movie is straight up trash.
