Speaking of Stephen King, did anyone watch the Hulu series of 11.22.63? I thought James Franco was very good but didn't really like the changes they made. The book is brilliant but definitely needed abit more editing. Don't think the TV show quite picked the right edits to make though.

I watched it after loving the book and was disappointed. It would probably have been a good show if I hadn't just finished the book, but the changes just grated with me.

Having said that, the ending of the TV show was better than the book.

I liked it but yeah, some of the changes were odd.

The addition of a whole extra key character was clearly a big change, but one they probably needed for exposition/plot development without a 'voice' of the book.

Yeah, totally agree with the extra character. A lot of the book was George's internal monologue which wouldn't have worked so well on a TV show.

I agree with Moggy about the ending for the TV show-that part they nailed.

Wasn't it the exact same ending?

Nope.

What was different? In both Jake erases his relationship with Sadie and goes to a presentation honouring her in the present.

There are a few changes but in the book the world is going to end by being shaken apart by earthquakes.

Pretty sure he undoes that then goes to see her when she's old and ends the book dancing with her. No?

Kind of looking forward to this. They are filming part 2 this month which covers the adults.

Looks good. Audio in the trailer was shocking though. Dialogue far too quiet and everything else too loud.

Baywatch looks lame, but I am very willing to see Alexandra Daddario in the classic swimsuit :datass:

I find that's the case with a lot of films and TV shows, does my head in having to adjust the volume every few minutes.

I think vlc has an option to 'normalise' the sound, I think it's called that. Can't remember how well it works, though.

VLC makes it sound weird. I couldn't get used to it constantly adjusting on the fly. It doesn't work well enough so it ends up being distracting.

My understanding is the huge explosions but quiet audio issue arises from 5.1 being converted to 2.0. Solution is get bad ass 5.1 speakers and download the 5.1 version of the show from the high seas.
