though the scope is so huge it'll be interesting to see how they tackle it in films.

I imagine they will butcher it so that it is barely recognisable. I love the series, but I just can't see them working as movies.

Yeah, definitely. I'm now picturing how it'd work as a film as I read it, and I really feel like much of it wouldn't.

Obviously a lot of it would - it's so (deliberately) cinematic, but so much of it is so far out there, I can't imagine it sitting well with audiences and, therefore, studios.

Some reports have said thatthe desert sequence spotted in the trailer is some kind of dream sequence. Batman is seen wearing that coat in the desert sequence so the two scenes are certainly linked.

Most likely though that Superman in the trailer is a paranoid fantasy of crazy old Batman. Classic Batman.
