4 minutes in my opinion is well too long for a trailer, I prefer like 1.30 with 10 seconds of that being from the maker of type stuff at the start them some music and info at the end etc.. so more like 1.10 or so of footage.

You have no idea who the villain is from that Jurassic Park trailer.

I love the original Star Wars trailer. Absolutely nothing given away. You don't even see the Death Star. Also fun to think that anyone watching it back in 1976/77 would have no idea what the film was going to mean in the long run. You see a Star Wars trailer now and the next two films have already been announced. That one was just a trailer for another space film.

Trailers in the 80's and 90's were good as others have said never gave to much away or showed key parts in the film and never gave the story away. 2 mins is the perfect trailer length anything longer spoils it.

Another really good early film trailer with a great voice over again it does not give much away

I always find those 80's trailers nostalgic as I've seen some of them hundreds of times as they were on the VHS of films. I'm pretty sure that Willow and Short Circuit were on Ghostbusters.

Not sure what Jurassic Park trailer you guys have watched but the one you've linked definitely shows raptors and spoils the "as long as they can't open doors" scene

How to make a trailer which doesn't spoil the film and gets people interested.

Why is there a Dumbo live-action film by Tim Burton being made?

I like some of Timmy's older films, but I don't think I've enjoyed anything of his in a long time, bar Coraline.

He didn't do coralline. They guy who directed nightmare before Christmas did, but that person wasn't Tim Burton but Henry Selick.

Two reasons.

1. $$$$$$$

2. Disney copyrights will expire in the next few decades (I think the US gives 95 years). By remaking them they get to keep a version of their work under their control.

That must be why they're not fighting to meddle with copyright law. That and the inevitable backlash from today's public.

Easier to spin a few live action flicks out and make megabucks instead.

Nah, I think that goes back to 1-I'm sure there are plenty of original ideas knocking about that they could invest in but older franchises are much less risky.

Gonna get murdered for this, but when was the last time Tony Stark stripped down to his undies to suit up?

Flashes of that scene from Star Trek that JJ Abrams had to apologise for; male gaze all over that gooseberry fool. Really disappointing.

Apparently it's fake.

That would explain it!

EDIT: Yep, vid was posted in May and hasn't been taken down. Fake as strawberry float.

Only if you can do the impossible and find a scene in the MCU when an attractive man has very little clothing on.

*Edit* I'm only teasing Taf, we don't need to argue about this.

Doesn't Ruffalo wake up naked in the wreckage of a swimming pool after hulking out in the Avengers?

We mustn’t ever be forced to see the outrageous and frankly dangerous image of a lady in her undergarments, this is Victorian England don’t you know!
