Didn't know the Insane Clown Possie were in Batman.

Shot is decent. Clown makeup is the same. Awful. Still think Phoenix could have an interesting take on the character but that’s not filled me with confidence.

What aspect of it makes you think it's awful? What are you hoping/expecting clown makeup on a villain to look like?

I find that the more amateurish the makeup, the more threatening and unsettling the effect. Leto's Joker looked so terrible because it was too contrived and deliberate. Ledger's better represented the chaotic nature of the Joker because it was more haphazardly applied to his face, he looked grimy and unhinged, and I think Pheonix's is more along this line of design. Obviously they're not just going to re-hash Ledger's Joker, that would be pointless.

Never cared for Transformer films before thanks to those awful pointlessly busy and over developed designs. But these G1 inspired designs won me over instantly    I'm gonna buy this even though Cena is in it.

I'm not completely sold on the Joker's makeup in this new film, but Preezy is right...

...I agree.

I've always considered myself more a DC fan than a Marvel fan overall, but even I think the DCEU needs to be scrapped altogether. It's just a strawberry floating mess. Outside of the comics I'm more than content with Nolan's efforts and the animations, the latter of which are consistently good.

While I'm definitely more of a Marvel fan, I do enjoy DC and they've completely strawberry floated the whole thing up. Normally I'd have said let's see how Aquaman and Shazam do, but with Cavill and Affleck gone, the core of their whole universe is held up by Wonder Woman alone. There's no doubt they could recast (Infinite Earths and all that), but it's a huge stretch, especially after they've already brought Superman back from the dead.

They need to scrap the whole thing and take some time to come up with a well thought out plan for what they want to do and how they're going to do it. If that means copying the Marvel formula of establishing characters and a universe first before getting their big team-up movie then so be it. They need to make us care about them individually before we give a damn about them together. Which is a shame as individually they had a fantastic cast, they just wasted every one of them with shite to middling at best movies.

Just been looking into it and the current DCEU isn't going anywhere. There are even films pencilled in for 2020. :dread:

Truth be told though, I'm only really into the Batman universe these days. It's always been my favourite, ever since I was a nipper, and as I said above the Nolan movies and animated films are very good. Plus I really enjoyed Gotham and can't wait for the final season next year.

The DCEU films have been generally poor, though. Watched Wonder Woman at my children's request a couple of months back and I couldn't believe how utterly forgettable it was, and that was supposed to be one of the better films!

As for Marvel, I haven't watched any of the Marvel films since GotG 2, but that's not an affront to their overall quality, I'm just not that into the Marvel universe, never have been. What I had watched up to that point were, a few turkeys aside, enjoyable and certainly better than WB/DC's recent output on the big screen.

Xmen Dark Phoenix trailer is out later today. ..

Will make Justice League look like the Dark Knight. It's been delayed multiple times, all test screenings got poor feedback and no one in it wants to be in it anymore. So that's something to look forward to later.

Hadn't even heard of this. First Class and Days of Future Past were so good, I can't believe how rapidly they seem to be strawberry floating this.

The rumor was that Marvel didn't want it released as they want to launch Xmen again when it comes back to them. New Mutants is also coming out and has also been delayed and they even re filmed parts of it to add a new character.

Would love a new X-Men movie at Marvel with Jim Lee style costumes and loads of bright colours. Plus a good Cyclops and Jubilee. Also Omega Red. Basically the 90s cartoon
