Skippy's description has made me go from "interested" to "oh. Maybe one for the netflix list". Making it a musical would certainly make it a bit different from every other action/crime car-chase caper. I've never really *got* Edgar Wright.

Not every other one, surely...

If there's one thing Edgar Wright can do well, it's put together a mean film soundtrack

This would be a great fit. Didn't know he was in for the running with Superman before.

Baby Driver looks equal parts good and hilariously bad. He's the best...BECAUSE HE LISTENS TO MUSIC. :fp:

I read something about the car chases etc being 'choreographed' to the music that 'Baby' is listening to, which sounds...intriguing.

Lily James though. :datass:

I'd be delighted to see another Superman film, especially if Zak Snyder wasn't directing it.

Would Matthew Vaughn directing mean that Superman finally gets to take Lois Lane up the wrong 'un?

Aha, ok, that sounds much better.

I remember starting Sunshine on Leith without knowing anything about it. Lasted less than four minutes. :slol:

Awful movie about an awful city, which I am likely to have to move to in the next few months. :slol:

Just seen Disney's live-action Mulan isn't going to have any of the songs. Total insanity. Not even slightly interested now.

Same goes for IT.

But that DT poster does look great. I think the issue with DT is, it's not going to be that much like the books. It'd be impossible. The chronology will be all over the place, and what it comes down to is how much those who have read the books are prepared to forgive.

I have already assumed that IT will be dreadful. IT being terrible will not be as bad as the Dark Tower being shite as (although I have fond memories of it) the old TV version of it wasn't great. Other than Tim Curry who was awesome.

That IT TV show, back in the day, was acceptable. But to watch it now is so cringe worthy! I'll keep faith with the new IT. They re-made Salems Lot (which wasn't too bad and was kept quite close to the source material.)

What ruined it was (spoilers for the IT book!): they didn't even bother doing the massive underage gangbang. :x :x :x

Stephen King was tweeting his approval of the direction they've taken IT, so it may yet pan out. I just want them to make it really strawberry floating scary. I am acting more in hope than anything else, though. I do think scrapping the back-and-forth chronology is a good idea - two films to cover the 50s/80s is probaly the best way to focus on making the films good.

The old TV version was, as you say, terrible. It hasn't stood the test of time at all - I think it's fondly remembered because people watched it as kids and shat themselves. But it's really dated nowadays.
