It's bound to be awful but the idea still excites me.
No George Carlin though.
Not sure how I feel about this to be honest.
I do hate that they feel the need to bring back all these old properties. But on the other hand it'll be good to see Keanu Reeves play something a bit more light-hearted. It'll be weird seeing Ted and thinking "I've seen him kill a man with a pencil."
One thing in its favour is Keanu has barely aged a day so we don’t have to worry about old man Ted talking about “babes”.
It's had a lot of delays , a lot of re shoots,a lot of very negative test screenings and the trailer does make it look gooseberry fool. Also ....
It changes the predator legend and instead of trophies the reason they are getting the human spines is for DNA so they can use it to evolve into better hunters. strawberry floating bollocks on a Prometheus level right there.
Fetch me old brown trousers, bring them to me now, I'll wear them in the rigging as they fire across the bow. Fetch me old brown trousers, I fear we may be hit, for even if they shoot me now, they'll never see me...
The problem with rebooting the Predator series is everything that made Predator great has been copied a million times since and would now be seen as hackneyed. I thought Predators did some interesting stuff but Adrien Brody was the wrong choice to lead that film.

I'm giving Shane Black the benefit of the doubt for now but I agree with you in principal, I like Predators because like the original it keeps the plot minimal and is about people with guns versus aliens with guns (and cloaking). These films are about cool see pieces and being carried by the actors; say what you will about Arnie's acting but you can't fault the guys screen presence.
