I fancy playing some SWAT 4 on my new lappy but I bought it from Direct2Drive and now can't download it again since Gamefly took them over. I've still got it installed on my old laptop so was wondering if it was possible just to copy and paste all the files over to my new laptop and for the game to play without it knowing any better. If it is possible how would I go about it?

So you legally bought the game and have be screwed out of it because of a take over, is that what you are saying?

If true then there is only one course of action, torrent the strawberry floater, then use the key (if you still have it) on the new install, if you have no key then just all out pirate it.

And companies bitch about getting ripped off when they pull crap like this.

This is the kind of situation I feel that piracy is perfectly justified in.

Thanks to the game's DRM system, anyone downloading a copy without authorisation won't be able to play it. In this case the media is merely a means to reinstall. Owning the install media doesn't actually allow you to play the game, access to the game is granted by the key, and you have a legit key.
