Everyone should watch Mr Robot. Really strawberry floating good. Definitely adding to the regular viewing list.

HSH28
Yeah Mr Robot looks like its going to be quality.

Blimey Mr Robot was rather good

Entertainment Weekly - A
Mr. Robot echoes Fight Club in its interest in how we live within ourselves—and live with ourselves—as people of conscience, and negotiate our relationship to society’s flawed, corrupt operating systems. The show may not click with everyone, but it left me electrified.

USA’s “Mr. Robot” might be the best show in the history of the network. (Sorry to fans of “Psych,” “Burn Notice,” “Suits” and “Monk”). It has that kind of potential. There’s a reason they took the premiere episode, which plays like a film, to the SXSW and Tribeca Film Festivals. It definitely has the best series premiere for the network that has struggled a bit to find a critical breakthrough in recent years. The first episode is riveting, driven by cinema-caliber direction from Niels Arden Oplev (“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”), a razor-sharp script from Sam Esmail (“Comet”) and a fantastic performance from Rami Malek (“The Master”).

You haven't quite seen a performance like Malek's, who drags us deeply into Elliot's wide-eyed psychosis and crushing loneliness, or a hero like Elliot--an unexpectedly sympathetic morphine addict with a history of delusions and psychotic breaks.... Who knows: Eventually he might even explain that title. Until then, enjoy a show that just might end up being named one of the summer's best.

Hitflix B+ -
"Mr. Robot" is compulsively watchable and interesting. It's a reminder that even the most well-worn cliches can still work with the right execution.

Enjoyed the 1st episode a lot, as did quite a few people here so thought I'd chuck a thread together.

I enjoy being quoted in this way.

It really is a great pilot episode and I can't wait to see how the story progresses.

This will be interesting purely on seeing how the manage to make hacking look 'exciting', which is damn near impossible if you also go for realism.

By not using the act as the focus, the pilot was really, really good, bar the actual scene where they did actually where we see him messing with computers which just looked odd, but I guess they had to show him at work at some point.

But really watch it, the only problem I have seen is they have barraged twitch with adverts for it, which seems like an odd demographic for this, as it is a thriller

I wasn't as hot on the pilot, the voiceover monologue was grating and the whole disability/disorder as a semi-superpower didn't sit too well. The whole thing was presented like a very straight faced look at schizophrenia except all of the protagonist's delusions were confirmed.

The coffee shop scene was especially bad He had really fast internet, it was too good to be true, I knew he must be doing something wrong

I was wary of watching this given that it's on USA and they excel at turning interesting concepts into procedural shows where the plot only advances in the first and last episodes of the season, but then I read that the creator plans for it to be 100% serialized. Awesome.

USA do seem to be trying to move away from that, Graceland for example is rubbish but it does have a main plot that is always being built up instead of story of the week.

I hope they do because more stations commissioning shows that at least look interesting can only be good

Really enjoyed the 1st episode and will definitely be watching the 2nd, hope it doesn't turn into a 'case of the week' show.

Well that was a damn fine first episode! The best I've seen since the Walking Dead pilot. I watched the online version from a while back, I presume the profanity won't make it to the broadcast version? I can see his being one of the best shows of the year if they can keep the quality up. I'm glad it got renewed for season 2 already but at the same time I really hope they don't run it into the ground. It seems like a concept that could only last a few years at most.

Good 2nd episode, going off a pier is not the best start to his withdrawal. Good they're building up the other characters especially the ladies more.

2nd episode was great.

Just how stupid is Elliots co-worker/friend's bf for sticking that CD in his laptop without doing a virus/malware scan?

Mr Robot reminds me of Hank Scorpio with his eccentric manner.

That was a decent second ep. Not really feeling the EvilCorp boss, though. He seems a little OTT for a show otherwise grounded in reality. Although maybe that's the point, I'm not even sure if he's real or not.

How far was that drop at the end?

About 8-10 feet, onto wet sand and assorted litter, probably a nasty fall but nothing too bad for someone with average fitness/strength.

I reckon he's broken his arm, he mentioned breaking it before so i guess that was a bit of foreshadowing

A little too on the nose with the Fight Club reference at the beginning of this week's episode. Got some great American Psycho vibes from this episode, too. :datass: Angela' boyfriend is such a douchecunt. :fp: Can't stand him.

Is this "good" like Arrow, or actually good, like Good Wife (for example)?

It's nothing like Arrow. It's a proper drama. Probably belongs on the likes of HBO more so than USA.
