PostMultiplayer PS4 Games
by Ecno » Fri Nov 25, 2016 3:21 pm

Hi All,

I just bought a PS4 as part of the amazon Black Friday sale and I don't really play a huge amount of video games anymore besides GC and CIV games. Are there any good multiplayer games I could get like for 3-4 people to play?

Thanks

Local multiplayer games are pretty much exclusively PSN games and sports games nowadays.

You should look at stuff like Overcooked, Helldivers, Magicka, and the Jackbox Party Packs.

All you need is Rocket League.

Rocket League is only up to 2 player splitscreen, though, is it not?

If you're looking for local co-op then as jiggles says it's mainly sports and indie titles.

I'd add Bro Force to that list, great fun with mates. The only proper AAA title I can think of that does 4 player local co-op is Diable 3, well worth a look. Sure there are some others I've forgotten.

I'm pretty sure it's 4 player also :)

Online-only co-op games - Rainbow Six: Siege looks like a right laugh if you're playing with mates that will communicate, same with the Battlefield games when you're in a squad.

I'm really enjoying Killing Floor 2 as it's just fun.
It's pretty basic but looks decent and has a decent community from what I've played.

Local multiplayer with up to 4 players: Overcooked, TowerFall Ascension, Rocket League, Trackmania Turbo, LittleBigPlanet 3, 100ft Robot Golf, Helldivers, Dangerous Golf.

Probably forgetting some good ones

Dead Nation is decent enough, but Helldivers is better if you're after something with more longevity.

Alien Nation also looks great, but it's another twin-stick shooter.

Having played it four-player split-screen at the weekend I can confirm this.

Borderlands The Handsome collection is of course the correct answer.

There is a Lara Croft top down shooter on PSN which I think is 4 player and worth a few quid.

Yes?

Borderlands is awful in splitscreen though because it's lazy. Everyone gets separate menus and the singleplayer font is tiny in itself so if you try and adjust your gear or anything you've basically got to stand right next to the TV to see what's happening.

Basically get Overcooked.

Hell Divers is an AMAZING 4 player co op game. You can get it on disc for like £15 too.
