That is a lot of characters. Maybe they should balance the game with what they have first haha...... right?

If a DLC fighter does not have at least 12 months in development, it is no fighter.

Bump! Game is out in closed beta now, open beta starting the 26th.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

I tried to get a code from a streamer I watch who was playing it, but it didn't seem to go through. You're meant to be able to get into the closed beta by watching an hour of someone else playing it. But I guess at this stage it doesn't matter.

It seems fine. I'll have to touch it myself, but might be fun for a bit.

I played this during the closed alpha. It's literally trash. Movement is so weird, floaty and jank. Combos are practically nonexistent unless you play a setup character - it's geared mpre torward 2v2 combat. This basically means 1v1s aren't really a thing. Maybe it's changed since then, but I doubt it.

This is a bad take.

Plenty of characters have combos. Go look up Jake for example, who only has melee attacks.

It feels lighter than smash but that's because there's a huge emphasis on movement. If you dodge jump you can zoom across the stage.

Anywaysz anybody else tried this yet? It's really fun. I think the 2 Vs 2 focus was a good idea, helps to keep the fights dynamic and interesting. There's so many more variables than in 1 Vs 1. Plus the worst thing about fighting games is how anti social they can be. This fixes that. Some of the characters have super cool interactions they can do.

It's for cross play, and you don't even have to choose a password. It just creates an ID to attach to your console account.

Every game I've played with cross play has had to use some intermediary account. Even Street Fighter 5.

Yeah given the cross platform nature I don't think it's unreasonable.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

It's fine if it just lets you skip it and behind the scenes makes an account based on your PSN name or whatever. It's really annoying if you just downloaded the game to try it out and have no intention of playing crossplay but it demands you provide an email and a password etc.

You do have to put an email in, but you don't have to verify it, or create a password, so I just used an old email address.

Btw if anyone is looking for a good starter character, Superman is lots of fun, he is really hard to kill and has armor on like all of his moves. Not only that but he has insane kill power too  look at this

Btw can I just point out, if you want to play this game locally with friends, all of the characters are unlocked. You don't have to unlock a single one unless you want to play online matches.

I think that's so amazing. Just a free high quality smash game you can play at a gathering and not have to spend any money.
