I've worked in a few places that did have a radio. One was around the time Lady Gaga had released Paparazzi and Poker Face. I remember listening to those songs a lot.

I vaguely remember hearing that Love CPR song in another workplace. That song is strawberry floating gooseberry fool.

Headphones can be a godsend not only for being able to shut out distractions while you work on one thing for a few hours, but also they serve as a nice "just strawberry float off" to people who like to talk at you for 20 mins about nothing in particular as it's their break time coming up and they want to kill some time. At least they'll normally leave you alone then.

Music on night shifts, no music on day shifts is usually the way it works here.

It's alright I guess. Occasionally hear tracks I want to save for a playlist later, which is good since I don't really follow any music scenes/bands anymore for whatever reason. I think we alternate between two stations and either hear a lot of the same pop music, or a lot of the same 80s/70s music, for the most part. It can get annoying, but some of the tracks have grown on me admittedly.

God, if only my colleagues understood social cues as well as yours.

We have BBC 6Music on all day at work, and it's great (for the most-part). If they have someone dodgy standing in for one of the usual DJ's, I'll sometimes play my Spotify instead.

Look at all the snowflakes in here!

"I can't work if there's noise in the background. Wah wah wah."

"People keep trying to talk to me at work. I just want to live in my own little world, leave me alone!"

I'm currently being subjected to some generic dance shite Youtube threw up :dread:

It's better than the almost daily Joe Rogan podcasts filled with US right-wing nutters I suppose :dread: :dread:

New set of headphones on the way...

I don't mind general noise, or talking to my coworkers, but I strongly object to hearing the same few songs repeated all day long, and also to hearing coworkers in other nearby departments relating the same inane stories from their weekends half a dozen times a day. And their irritating laughs.

I like to block them all out and get my work done and/or doze off.
