I just had a power cut and it's killed my PS4 and I was just wondering if anyone had the number for the support centre in the UK as finding it online is a bloody nightmare as I found when sending back my pad. I just want a number and it just sends you round in circles :fp: .

Cheers I just phoned them and it's going to be £170 to send it back and I'm not paying that so I'm ps4less for a while it seems.

How "kill" is "kill"? Because there are at least two fuses between the PS4 and the socket.

If there's no power at all, it's probably one of those.

Alternatively, just use your (slim) PS3's power cable and see if you can rule out one of the two potential blown fuses.

It will have a built in fuse thing which would have blown, they will just replace that part for you.

I had same thing happen to my Xbox One, well almost, power went out while playing and then it wouldnt come back on when power was back, plugged it out, back in etc, was about to pack it away and call MS and I tried it one last time and it worked, very strange.

My PS4 is going through a surge protected extension and it does power on it just doesn't send anything to the TV and refuses to go into safe mode. It's safe to assume it's had it's last game of Diablo 3  .

The people at Sony were actually pretty nice and didn't hard sell me on a replacement and I will wait until next week to decide what to do as I quite enjoy the idea of getting back into reading and maybe even going outside.

Sales of Goods Act

You have the right to get faulty goods replaced or repaired if it's too late to reject them. You can ask the retailer to do either, but they can normally choose to do whatever would be cheapest.
Under the Sale of Goods Act, the retailer must either repair or replace faulty goods 'within a reasonable time but without causing significant inconvenience'.
If the seller doesn't do this, you're entitled to claim either:

• a reduction on the purchase price, or
• your money back, minus an amount for the usage you've had of the goods (called recision)

If the retailer refuses to repair the goods, and they won't replace them either, you may have the right to arrange for someone else to repair your item, and then claim compensation from the retailer for the cost of doing this.

You have six years to take a claim to court for faulty goods in England, Wales and Northern Ireland; in Scotland you have five years.

Seems like your in luck if you reference this to them. They can't deny the law. And if they try to fob you off, threaten them with court, will surely change their mind..

Sony customer service have been excellent with me. However our dodgy house electrics and the news that power cuts are not covered makes me want a surge protector.
