Many people mod GameCube analogue sticks into N64 controllers now. My local indie sells them.

I've heard of a couple of issues with Goldeneye but apparently it works fine, so maybe they would do something similar to that (the GameCube stilll had the 8 point notches which I miss).

I think the main issue with GCN style analog sticks is the lack of travel compared to N64 ones. But Hori released a pad with GCN style stick during the N64’s lifetime that seems to rate pretty highly among third-party pads, so it might be viable.

Yes, that one also went up for sale recently and it looked decent.

Weird controller?!? Surely they just misspelt wired...

With the Mini NES coming back later this year do you think we could get an announcement after that? Could make a great stocking filler.

I've been tempted to get one of those Retro Fighters controllers myself, but I'm worried about getting hit with a customs charge. :| It says on the website, "Please contact us if you are outside of U.S. and we’ll get you connected with one of our future retail partners.", so I might wait to see if it becomes available in the UK.

But yeah, I was really hoping that the N64 Mini would be announced at E3, but it wasn't to be... Quite disappointed. :(

I’m surprised they didn’t announce the N64 with the news it would have the following games:

it’s Smash 64 20 times

I'm wondering now if all the patents they filed were just so they could get Primark clothes made.

N64 vs. PlayStation all over again...in 2018. Who would have thought it.

I'd opt for PlayStation again. My favourite games console of all time.

The N64 was a quality console, though. Regret selling mine.

I think it'd be too late for this year.
Could they really get them manufactured and distributed globally for a release this year? Even if they went with Japan only this year I'm not sure there'd be enough time.

I love the idea of both machines, but the game selection will be critical. Licensing issue may scupper some favourites.

Even without Banjo, Perfect dark etc Nintendo would still have a good library to put on the thing.
These games would do the job:
Kirby 64, Mario Golf, Mario Tennis, Mario party 1,2 & 3, Pokemon Puzzle League, Pokemon Snap, Yoshi's Story, Donkey Kong 64, 1080, Pilotwings 64, Wave Race, F-Zero X, Mario kart 64, Star Fox 64, Super Smash bros, Sin & Punishment, Paper Mario, Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Excite Bike 64.
Maybe even Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 if they can make the games work with the 3DS versions of gen 1 and 2(unlikely).

They could maybe get some 3rd party games too:
Mystical Ninja, Mischief Makers, Rayman 2, Ridge Racer 64 (Nintendo Developed with namco's permission), Bomberman 64

No rare originals would leave a hole in the library but there's still enough there for them to put on a mini if they were to match the PS1 mini's 20 games.

I'd hazard a guess at either one or both 3D N64 Castlevania games being on the machine, Konami seems to have good relations with Nintendo and the recent Smash inclusion will help.

I hope we get a Mini N64 Machine, I fear Nintendo might just put the hardware in the controller to save money like the iQue release in China from back in the day.

Why would they? They could've done that with the NES/SNES classics and they didn't.
