NBA Playgrounds [Win][PS4][XB1][Switch]

Monster Jam!

NBA Playgrounds is a new casual basketball game from studio Saber Interactive.

It seems to take the gameplay of both NBA Jam, and the item system from something like Madden Arcade.

I am looking forward to getting this on both Windows and Switch because I love NBA Jam, and the idea of portable two player NBA Jam fills me with joy.

NBA Jam was one of my fave SNES games, so if this is even half as good I'll be a happy chappy.

The video thumbnail looks pretty awful (a 3D mode?)... but the game itself looks great! I hope it has cool, daft commentary like NBA Jam.

Yeah not sure what's going on with that, the whole game is a side-on affair like NBA Jam, at no point in the video does the cmera take that angle.

Looks cool. Between this and Ultra Street Fighter II there's going to be some great arcade-style multiplayer on the Switch soon.

I hope this is anywhere near as good as NBA Jam.

Hopefully this turns out to be good, looks the part so far anyway.

Anyone bought this for Switch yet? If so, first impressions?

Having looked at a couple of vids, I'm holding off from this. It just doesn't look as good as NBA Jam; almost like a cheap version of it. I had high hopes but at sixteen quid (or eighteen on the Switch because reasons) I'd rather dig out my old Mega Drive Jam cart. It doesn't help that the game has been released with promises of fix / feature patches to come... I guess it's part of modern gaming that games can be released unfinished.

I watched the Giant Bomb quick look and it looked pretty bad. I loved NBA Jam.

Bought it for multiplayer fun with/for my boys.
Only had 15 mins with it but the OTT animation will appeal to them although I can see it getting grating upon repeated play especially for me.
But it's something fun and that's what games are about. Right?
