I have the same problem with my laptop

Why do these people buy laptops.

That MSI looks like a grey import, as the questions clarify it comes with an added UK power adapter. Which would explain the price. Anyway, it's not available anymore. Anything like that should be covered by Amazon A-Z guarantee so you can get your money back, Amazon give you the money and then they sort it out with the seller, which is quite helpful.

If you really want to go own the cheap laptop route, and bearing in mind it isn't going to be anything fast, there's Lenovo IdeaPad with a nice aluminium body, 2.3Ghz mobile Pentium processor and 128GB SSD albeit just 1336x768 screen with £100 off Amazon at the moment, so it's £299, at 14" it shouldn't look that bad, hopefully more functional than most at this price range: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B078YTTF7H

I'd like a laptop at just 1.7KG tbh.

Yeah I ignored that Candy Crush comment
You're probably right about grey import. From the model number I thought it might be a US version, but also it's being delivered from France and will take 10 days or so.
I've bought it expecting it probably won't turn up or I'll need a refund, but Amazon are good at that so not too worried.

My budget was actually £800 - 1000. Looking for a i5/i7 CPU, good quality screen, SSD + HDD, and some dedicated graphics (not top-end just 1050/1050ti would be fine). Not worried about weight or size. All of the ones I'd been looking at for that price seem to fail on screen quality. If this £390 laptop is suitable then I'll be well chuffed!

Oh I was more making that recommendation for the OP, but with that budget you'd be miles off into, good laptop territory. I'd never budget that low for any kind of computer unless I was building it myself to run Plex or an NAS or something. I like to put in a good budget and keep the bits for years and years and years - I think I'm still using parts from 2005 (not laptops obviously, the first laptop was around £900 as college computer from rip-off Dixons when laptops cost the earth and it only finally died when my brother borrowed it years later, didn't keep it in the case I gave him and dropped it. It was an eMachines if anyone's interested, to be fair it still looked pretty good and was built pretty well).

As expected my laptop order was cancelled, no money was taken so no big loss.

However, when I looked at the item again it has been relisted for the same price by a different user account, but it's the same person as the description is exactly the same, and asks you to email them outside of Amazon.

I've asked Amazon to investigate, as it's probably a scam and mine was cancelled as I didn't send them an email.

Update: The users selling this are genuine, but their accounts have been hacked. Solved!

Pretty clever. If you don't have a trusted brand from which to sell dodgy goods, just steal one...

My second attempt at ordering a laptop from Amazon.

MSI i7 7700hq, SSD + HDD, 8GB RAM, and GTX1060 (although I think it's only 3GB version) for £540:

Looks legit this time, usually this goes for £950. More available if anyone else interested.

So what are reliable places to buy used laptops from?

Not Amazon!
Three times I saw a cheap laptop, tried to buy, and then it turned out the seller had had their account hacked.

Now I've seen another good deal sold by Amazon directly and so figured their can't be any problems this time. But it turns out they have run out of stock and don't know if they'll even get more in, so my order is "awaiting delivery date".
