Thanks for the info
I'll give the second episode a watch just in case. I like the Dirk/Todd interaction so far but everything else seems a bit too... American, almost. Too bombastic.
Did anyone actually watch the UKTV
version with Stephen Mangan and Darren Boyd?
Basically make sure to think of it as it's own thing and not (despite the title
) a version of DG seems to be what the internet says.
Episodes 1-4 (and tbh parts of 5 and 6) are confusing. You're not sure what's happening and why. But characters (both protagonists and antagonists) are in the same boat. It's a very odd structure for a TV show - no one knows what all the strange coincidence and connections means (or who half the other people/groups involved).
It's fun to watch (DG is basically just the 11th Doctor) but it's confusing - you're mostly watching it for the characters reactions to events they (and you) don't understand.
It's only later on in the show when everything starts to 'click' and be explained (sort of) and you understand what (mostly) everything is and how/why.
