What games are out there that you have played which you know 100% that you will never play again and for what reasons.

There are not many games I’ve played which I hated as I’m pretty selective but there are some that I know I will never play against. Two of those games are Beyond Two Souls and Heavy Rain. Now, I first thought this was because I played them to death but looking back I really didn’t enjoy them as much as I thought and only played them to platinum for the sake of platinum. The mundane button pushes and swipes etc wasn’t fun and this is what puts me off Detroit.

Over to you guys :capnscotty:

PLAY | Persona 3 Reloaded [3h]
WATCH | Ted Lasso S3, HiJack S1, Red Dwarf S4, Dexter S2
RACE | Chew Valley 10k (June), GNR (Sept), Cardiff Half (Oct)

Fallout 3. I liked it a lot but I was super done with it ages ago. If I'd replay any Fallout game it'd be New Vegas but that's it. Meanwhile I'll probably play Morrowind again even though I've exhausted it even more.

Others off the top of my head:

Rogue Squadron 3
Theme Park World (PS1)
Jackie Chan Adventures (GBA)
Digimon World (PS1)
Bubsy 3D
My Sims
Spiderman 3 (Wii) - thought this might have been decent since Spiderman 2 was good
Iron Man (Wii) - random review copy my brother-in-law got
Deadly Creatures

Some of these games I did enjoy, like Deadly Creatures, but don't feel like revisiting in the slightest. Some did not leave much of an impression. My Sims was one I had in mind to try again after only playing it for a few hours, but then I ended up forgetting about it. And of course some of these games are just plain bad.

I really wanted to like Digimon World and there's a lot to like about it but I'm just not going to be able to get invested in it. As a kid I did enjoy it, even the parts I'd consider tedious now, but I didn't end up completing it and doing that seems much less appealing these days.

Shoutout to Digimon World for being such a nasty piece of gooseberry fool that I got called a liar when I told someone IRL that I had beaten it.

Pretty much every game I've ever played. When I'm done with them, I'm done with them. There are far too many games out there to waste time replaying games I've had my fun with.

Yes?

Have you tried Digimon World Next Order? Storywise it's a follow up to the first one, but this time you get two Digimon.

And it actually explains how the game works to you.

Well, there was Digimon World 2, 3 and 4 back in the PS1/PS2 days but they had nothing to really do with the first one.

Next Order is a PS4 game that actually continues on the story (The Player character from Digimon World is back in it and references events from the first game) and plays quite similarly, but is much more player friendly I found.

Probably the Ace Attorney games. Well, the ones I played back on the DS, back in the day.

They're all about the story, and the surprise twists, so unless I get Alzheimer's and forget everything, I can't go back. I tried. It's not the same.

This, bar Super Mario Bros 3 and most GTAs.

I'm pretty much over the Gran Turismo series as it's just not fun.
I can't drive in real life partly because I can't be strawberry floating bothered to do driving lessons or a test why would I want to do that in a game?

Related to the 'Are games too big' thread, I rarely return to most open world games once I've beaten them. Games like the Far Crys and GTAs. They're so massive that once I've ploughed enough time into them to finish, I'm ready to move on and not come back

Conversely, I find that short narrative games work better when only played once too. Dear Ester, Gone Home, Tacoma etc.

All big open world story driven games for me. They're all one and done because I find the exploring builds the world so going back breaks the illusion of it all. The only exception to this is breath of the wild, but then that doesn't have any story or proper quests to speak of, so just being in the world us the fun part of the game.

I rarely go back to singleplayer games once I've finished them, especially big open world games. I loved Watch Dogs 2 so much, but once I finished the story stopped playing straight away because getting all the collectables seemed pointless. I have enough of a backlog to always have something next in the pipeline.

As for games I quit playing and never want to go back to, its mainly games where the difficulty is the selling point, so stuff like Cuphead, High Hell, Clustertruck, Nuclear Throne etc. I no longer have the time or commitment to do levels over and over again.

Unless it's Dark Souls I don't play games again.

Any game that forces RNG loot mechanics on you in order to properly progress.

They are glorified slot machines and I've come to realise I would rather play a few different games than spend 100 hours doing the same activities over and over so that I can 'spin the wheel'

Dark Souls series and Bloodborne. Absolutely not my kind of game. I'm not up to the challenge and I'm not prepared to die (over and over). Not my idea of fun!

I played all of these games and I barely remember anything beyond the first game.

Alzheimer's sucks.

Super Smash Bros

I wanted to like it, i really did, so much so i played the first three games!

The first was merely ok but i was given it so couldn't really complain, the second was better and i did like some of the stages, but then i believed the massive ONM hype surrounding the third and picked it up at a reduced price only to find i hated it so much that i traded it in as soon as i possibly could.

Those who don’t replay games, do you ever hold onto them?

I play a few games I really like again and some I love have had multiple play through, just starting Kingdom Hearts for the umpteenth time

Replaying games is mostly what I do these days. BOTW is the first NEW game i've enjoyed in a long long while.

There was a time when I was replaying Skyrim and HALO MCC collection on my xbox one with actully no Xbox one games.....I'm still tempted to get burnout paradise revamp.

Thing is I'm out of touch with the gaming world these days and new games are an effort, which is silly.

BotW though has been just lovely. I'm out in the edge of the world and the little switch with Zelda has kept me sane.
