Agreed. Even the OP doesn't seem accurate as Rare isn't mentioned as the specific developer in the quote in the OP. It just talks about finding the right team.

Just to confirm Spencer's follow-up to mentioning Banjo:

Yes, it is likely to be a way off. Yes, it's not confirmed that Rare will be coding it. But Spencer has mentioned the game and immediately said it's not a tease.

Spencer went on to comment about development of newer titles for dormant franchises:

Got more chance of another Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon turning up before this I think, for the simple fact Banjo Kazooie probably has more limited commercial appeal, and has laid dormant for 15 years.

Relax, guys - Spencer has name-checked Banjo and then gone on to say that he doesn't talk about games without reason. Banjo is on the way, even if it may take a while :toot:

I think game threads are generally started when the game is officially announced. I don't think anyone would be bothered if you started a thread 'Phil Spencer hints at new Banjo game' or something similar. This is a little premature, and has understandably got people's hopes up unnecessarily.

I have just added "Rumour" to the start of the thread title.

Hopefully MS will deliver a new Banjo-Kazooie game; from Spencer's words, it certainly sounds like one is on the way :toot:
