Crackdown 3 (XB1/W10)

The MP mode is only 10 players so I doubt they could get up to 100 for a BR mode. Also Phil said recently they didn't want do a BR as so many third parties are doing it.

First planned for November 2017, then delayed to 2018, the long-troubled action open-world game Crackdown 3 will now be out in 2019, according to two people familiar with the game’s release plans. It’s an unusual move and another blow to Xbox’s already weak first-party lineup for 2018.

The third Crackdown game, developed by the British studio Sumo Digital among other companies, was first announced at E3 in 2014. Last year, Microsoft said Crackdown 3 would come out alongside the Xbox One X on November 7, 2017. A polarizing showing at E3 2017 and some severe development struggles led Microsoft to delay the game, first to a vague “spring 2018" window, and now to next year, said those two sources, speaking anonymously so as to protect their careers.

Usually when I read 'development hell' I imagine gooseberry fool going wrong, but with CD3 the extra development time seems to be caused by good intentions. ...wait a minute!

Trying to avoid a Sea Of Thieves / State Of Decay 2 rush job. MS need a critical hit, and they need one soon.

Maybe the game looks great? Split release like Photek said but I'd go with MP this year.

They had gameplay of the campaign a year ago so think that's still coming and it will include free beta to MP this year which will release 2019.

While extra development time can often be a good thing they can't keep delaying Crackdown 3, gamers are just going to lose interest eventually.

At this rate it'll probably be a launch title for the next gen Xbox.

Probably waiting for everyone to forget about the cloud claims.

Our own sources indicate that the game isn't struggling with development, but Microsoft is hoping to polish up the game's multiplayer portion and does not want the title to disappear amidst the bigger Fall titles.
