I got a SNES Mini off Lewis, so I'm going to 100% no foolin' finally complete LoZ;aLttP, then work my way through all the classic SNES RPGs I never got a chance to play as a kid. Earthbound, Secret of Mana, Mario RPG, the works. Can't wait!

I’m gonna be attempting to finish off Wrath of the Machine again in an hour or so. I’ve just watched an idiot’s guide to the raid and I think I have a better grasp on the final encounter now so hopefully this will go a little more smoothly than Friday’s attempt.

WOTM is the only one I've never attempted (bar Last Wish, which we are starting tomorrow).

Fortunately my current clan seem pretty open to going back and playing the old Destiny 1 raids, so I might get the chance. Never finished King's Fall either. You probably try that or Vault of Glass next if you can. Most people still reckon VOG is the best, though I think a lot of that is down to being the first.

Yeah I’m hoping to go back and do the earlier raids too at some point.

To finish the evening off we all had some stuff to do in Court of Oryx so we split off into smaller groups and through careful timing all six of us managed to meet up in Court or Oryx at the same time so we could pretty much rinse the place.

All in all quite a productive evening.

Did you guys find clanmembers/strike teams on Reddit? As I say I have that GamerLink app now but haven't used it.

I initially met a couple of guys via GamerLink who run a clan which I joined. One of them did all the real legwork to find the other 3 players. Our first time through we had an American guy as a guide but he took things way too seriously and didn’t explain certain mechanics very well so I was glad when we replaced him to finish the boss.

Playing God of War at the moment. It's like a well worn chair that's been beautifully reupholstered.

Really like the father-son (& Mimir) stuff.

My friend and I managed to find a small Australian clan (roughly the same timezone as Japan) looking for members on Reddit. There's about 15 of them but a core of three or four that play regularly, which obviously means we have a raid team if we organise it (and a Gambit stack).

You want to find one that is actually looking for players and is relatively dedicated in playing regularly. You don't want one where there are tonnes of people so you don't get a spot, or one where no-one is ever online (the GRcade clan).

You're on PC right? Means you can't join the same one as me.

Yeah, I'll probs head to reddit for a clan once I've finished off Forsaken. And yeah, I'm on PC (also in the wrong timezone for yours, but thanks for the thought!).

Just finished Warmind which, although miles better than Osiris, was still a mixed bag. What is it with Bungie and storytelling these days? The story missions start off good, mysterious AI, even more mysterious creature on Mars, before simply assuming you know what's going on from one mission to the next with no reveal or tension. I genuinely thought I'd missed a mission as Xol is simply...identified at some point. It goes from 'stop whatever ritual the Hive are performing' to 'Kill Xol' without ever stopping to explain who or what Xol is. It's bizarre considering how good the storytelling in Halo was (and I know it's a completely different narrative team these days, but you think they'd have learnt something from their predecessors).

Oh, and rolled the Prismatic Matrix thing and got the one possibility I actually wanted;

It is literally a slot machine though. Shameful stuff.

Speaking of confusing Destiny lore having not played any of the raids the story in Taken King made little sense to me. I hadn’t killed Crota so why does his father want revenge on me?

Putting AC Origins on the back burner for a bit. Ploughed quite a bit into it again and need a break. Damn it's huge.

Recently finished S1 of TWD.

Fired up PCars 2 again. Bit out of practice was surprised none of the recent updates allowed you to tailor the length times of practice and qualifying sessions in caeer mode. Thought they would have sorted that by now.

Conan Exiles and SWTOR are still my go-to MMO games at this time.

Started the Forsaken campaign and Cayde's death is just as hilariously overdone as I'd hoped. A lengthy CGI cutscene, not one but two death scenes (completely with 'Marion Cotillard in Dark Knight Rises' bad last words), a mourning scene and a change of music for the Tower hub from the normal prideful march to a funeral dirge.

Bungie sure strawberry floating loved Cayde eh?*

*He was so, so bad. Forsaken is already better than the other expansions simply for getting rid of him.

Hitman Season 1.

Just finished the opening episode’s chapters. Loved the jet assassination.

Uh, oh. A small game called Swamp Defense 2 got put on the Switch eShop, and I'm a sucker for tower defence games. And it's already sucked me in. Good enough game, but is a bit tough to zip around with a d-pad.

World of Final Fantasy Maxima on the Switch.

Been after something simple to play on the Switch for a while. As awesome as recent purchases (Binding of Isaac, Into the Breach and Black Bird) have been, my own limitations mean that I'm seeing an awful lot of the opening levels, but not much else.

World...definitely covers the 'simple' part, but maybe a bit too much (THIS AREA HAS FIRE IN ITS NAME SO YOU WILL NEED TO USE WATER IN BATTLE etc.), I suspect it might get a bit more complex later on, although not by much.

It's enjoyable enough for what it is though, and seeing others FF characters pop up is always nice. The Mirage descriptions have raised a chuckle or two as well, so it currently gets a 'thumbs up' from me.

Diablo 3 (PS4)

Horribly addictive.

I saw it’s in offer in Black Friday PS store sale, complete edition for £16. Worth it?
