Another boss down in Cuphead on island 3. Another cheating bullshit boss. If anyone has played the mermaid boss you'll know what I mean, particularly the last levels with the medusa stare that freezes you. To make matters worse, in the PC version I've had the bug twice where the guns stop working. 2nd time I had 3 lives left going into the 3rd stage but just messing about with the audio settings let me get my main gun back (but not special attack) and managed to complete it even though it cheated two lives off of me. strawberry floating game etc. A level that should take 10 mins ends up wasting an hour.

Annoyingly, may have to give up on Cuphead. Now I've finished the third island you have to take on King Dice (or possibly Dice King) which involves first battling a load of mini bosses (which is probably the best part of the game) and once done, battle King Dice. The first problem is that the mini bosses will take one or two lives from you (which don't get refreshed when you start against him) and the 2nd is that his attack is basically BS and you can't avoid damage (I've checked a few guides that confirm this and also say things like "Hope you get lucky"). The game is BS difficult enough as it is (and there are elements of luck all through it) but this is just utter BS added near the end of a strawberry floating unfair game.

Waypoint's Metro 2033 retrospective and my finally having gotten around to reading Roadside Picnic has made me revisit STALKER and boy oh boy I'm having fun.

I played it on release but quit at a point I'm pretty sure was close to the end as it had gotten too scary (I was a wee petal back then) but I'm enjoying making my way into the Zone again. It has an atmosphere I don't think has really been attempted since, at least not anywhere near as successfully. That feeling of steadfast stubbornness in the face of everything being utterly strawberry floated.

Add in the brutality of the gunplay (which is closer to Counter Strike than CoD) and it remains just as unique an experience today as it was back in 2009.

Started Mass Effect on PC. Pretty decent port. I forgot that Kaiden exists. Get the hell out of my team, you dick.

Dice King is down in Cuphead. Just the devil left to do and to my surprise, it is not a walk in the park enemy with no BS attacks. Who'd have thought?

The mini bosses in the Dice King part were the closest the game has come to fun. But again they need to spoil the game with the actual Dice King.

Can't get over Death's Head still playing Cuphead. He's a very dedicated gamer.

I don't play it every day, for the last month or so I've been playing 1 hour per week (basically completing one boss). I'm still working towards my one game backlog dream having only bought one game this year.

Wolfenstein: The New Order

First game I've sat down and played in weeks. Quite enjoying it too.

I think having these breaks in between games, (as opposed to attempting to play something every night), has worked out well in terms of how much enjoyment I get from gaming. It's also seen my spending on games reduced dramatically. In fact I've not bought anything since the Naruto Trilogy.

I'm playing Mass Effect 1 on PC. Good port all in all.

I'm in Noveria and it's painful to play though. The level design here is dogshit. It could really do with more quality of life improvements, fast travel to the Normandy. It recommended that I use Liara as her mum with the massive bewbs is here. I literally can't be arsed walking the whole way back to the ship to change my party.

Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One on PS3. Currently up to the third area of the game and thus far it’s a fun platformer in a similar vein to Travellers Tales Lego series although on occasion the friendly AI is woefully inept.

I played a little of Mighty Number 09 the other day on account of getting it free and it was awful. It’s like somebody took Mega Man and just sucked all the fun out of it.

Still playing Metal Gear Survive and it's still fun, turns out when I thought the game was ending it sent me to a whole new map.
Also been playing the multiplayer and it's a blast, the other day I had a team on level 5's and I carried then through the match and we got an S rank, it was tense but a lot of fun.

Metal Gear it ain't but it's a bloody good survival game.

Nier Automata.

Enjoyed the start of the game but felt it went off the rails a bit from then on (is a bit shoddy in the technical department too). Had heard that it becomes a bit special later on, after you've 'finished' the game and thought 'It'll have to be more than a bit special to justify its inclusion in some people's GOTY lists'.

You know what? I think it just might be...

Just wrapping up my time with Battlefront 2. Been having more fun with Jetpack Cargo since they added Bespin, although I'll probably just unlock the hoth skin for Leia tomorrow and call time on this game for a while.

Far Cry Primal (PS4 Pro)

I never picked this up when it was released, although the concept intrigued me even back then. A few days ago I purchased the Gold Edition on PS Store for just £15, including all DLC and Season Pass.

What a beautiful-looking game world. It looks stunning on my Pro running with super sampling on my 1080i HDTV - it must be even more impressive on powerful modern PC. Just walking about through the sun-dappled Giant Redwood forests, a very evocative ambient forest soundtrack in the background, is worth the price of admission alone. It’s an impressive engineering feat.

Also, the occasional bare-breasted female comes as standard. ;)

A bargain right now if you’re so inclined.

Been making steady progress in Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One today. I’m hoping to have this wrapped up in the next few days.

Primal is a gorgeous looking game but I'm not sure it's enhanced on a pro or Xbox One....it is beautiful though, its the lighting I think.

Playing through Deus Ex HR again on PC. Hoping I can get the stuttery gameplay sorted. Looks nice and runs well apart from that momentary stutter.

These types of games are probably my favourite, I could play stuff like the Dishonored's, Prey and this series indefinitely. Every playthrough, there's something different.
