In the past week I've played...

Lets Go, Pikachu! - Quite a surprise. I'd barely played a Pokemon game before - my last experience being ten minutes of Blue back in '99 - and the friendly, easy-to-pick-up opening of this has really brought me on-board; quite literally as I've just wandered around the ship.

Fallout 76 - There are problems :shifty: ... but I've still enjoyed playing so far. Naturally, I'm rubbish at it and I'm finding the survival elements challenging to juggle, but I'll be diving back in this afternoon.

PES 2019 - I've only played one online match this week as my focus has been on the two games above... but I led Celta Vigo to a 4-1 victory over Barca last night. The less frequently I play this game, the better I get :fp:  .

I really wanted to like WoFF because I *love* the art style  , but the demo didn't do it for me. Will give it another bash at some point.

Will give it a go at some point!

WoFF is like My First Final Fantasy crossed with My First Pokemon, but the chibi characters and art style make for a pleasant experience. I've taken a few screenshots of the 'mirages' (Pokemon) that you collect as the descriptions are pretty funny, but my Switch is acting like a prick and hanging every time I try to post them.

Borderlands 2 on PS4. I’m not that far into this, I’ve reached Sanctuary and met the first of the original vault hunters. I think before moving on with the story I’m gonna clear up some side missions and maybe some area based challenges to see if I can level up a bit as I died quite a lot in the last area becoming overly reliant on second winds.

God of War

Lush visuals and enjoying it so far. Few hours in, just met Brok, the sweary dwarf  The stranger fight, near the start, was particularly good. The boy thankfully isn't an annoying wee shite; impressed with the interaction between him and Kratos. Not sure about the whole items / upgrades though; it's all a bit much / overwhelming - and, is it really necessary?

Dead Cells

Playing on normal difficulty and trying to nab more blueprints from the lesser fought mobs in the newer levels.

Absolutely, the only way to raise your character level is by upgrading your gear. Enemies who are any more than a level or 2 above you are nigh impossible to defeat.

Warriors Orochi 4 - caved and bought this today. It's so good. Basically Dynasty Warriors with 150 characters and more super attacks. It's simple fun and very relaxing.

Wish my image sig would work

I get that, but meant more in terms of game mechanics. Seems like they could have made it a little less convoluted.

Diablo 3 on Switch - Already got Reaper of Souls for PS4, but only played it for a couple of hours as I wasn't that keen on the game as it felt rather repetitive.
But got this Switch version and I'm really enjoying, spent 3 hours yesterday playing it and now I'm finding it really addictive.

In between PUBG I've been playing Nier Automata and Kingdom Come Deliverance.

I'd being eyeing up both for a while and I'm very happy to get them cheap on the Xbox Black Friday Sale.

Nier has that platinum ability to just feel great to run around, everything runs along fast paced and It's very pretty as well. Looking forward to playing more as I love the aesthetic and post mankind architecture.

Kingdom Come Deliverance is marvelous also. It has touches of it being a bit odd in animation and it's cumbersome UI showing it's indie studio roots. It certainly looks well, I say well because this is medieval times grounded in reality, no fantasy stuff here so the town you start in, is as brown as towns probably were. It's initially underwhelming but you kinda get your head around the fact that it's realistic and you start noticing details in things. The voice acting isn't up to much but I hear this improves. Starting in a queit little village doing errands was quite relaxing and then it goes a bit Game of Thrones, really like it though.

I need to go back to Kingdom Come Deliverance, I didn't get far at all (basically stopped at the point it opens up) but the opening has very good quest design, I played it through twice and it went completely differently both times because of my choices

Looks pretty sweet on X1X certainly clean but deffo not Native 4K. I've read that it's had a few patches and almost all of the bugs are gone.

Battlefield 1 (PS4)

Played through the tank story mission. Very good.

Trying some MP now. Very impressed, except for loading times which are atrocious.

Yeah the Blood & Mud story was short, but very enjoyable. Definitely some reply value to be had. Looking forward to trying the other stories.

Apart from my foray into Sea of Thieves (best looking 4K game on my X1X btw) last night to check out the update (which is excellent). My mates out of the blue invited me to Halo 5.

Since I'm apparently not allowed post in Halo 5's thread cos of accusations I'm bumping it, I must say we had a blast. 2 things that struck me, first was that player population is still high, I mean, with MCC being fixed I presumed Halo fans would go back but maybe with both being on gamepass its boosted both as we have no problem finding games on both titles, I'm talking seconds.

Secondly, we really enjoyed ourselves, so much so that it's going to be rotated back into our online play time. We played 3 BTB games, 1 bomb assault, Slayer and CTF. We lost bomb assault barely, won slayer (cos we got carried) but CTF was to and fro, 2-1 down with a min to go we got it to 2-2, then 3mins over time we won it. Halo 5 mp is awesome, I just forgot how awesome it was.

Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance, the one GBA 'vania I hadn't gotten around too. Finding it charming as hell. The colourfulness, the low-quality music, the unnecessary 'blur' effect when Juste moves even slightly quickly (like really, that must be distracting to anyone he knows), and even his running animation. Liking the soundtrack a lot so far; I'd say its technical quality holds it back, but it honestly kinds of lends it a nice effect. The compositions are excellent. The file select screen music is randomly funky as opposed to the usual solemn tracks you get. It's great.

So far I am finding it as easy as its reputed to be. I have died a fair few times but mostly out of carelessness. Too tempting to spam forward-dashing since it gets you around so quickly and easily. Soon as the whip's completely extended you can backdash back to safety, and its got a pretty generous hitbox. We'll see what it's like later though. The movement is nice, like I'd expect from an 'Igavania'. Two different dashes is a bit extravagant and maybe a little unnecessary but I'm not complaining. Is cool to have another option to play around with.

Also currently playing Nier Automata, which I haven't played as much of as I would have liked recently. Really enjoying that too. And a few other games, including DQVIII but I'm either getting through that very slowly or not playing it at all. Don't want to drop it but it's gotten a bit boring.

For an online game, Destiny 2 doesn't half make you work for it when sorting out Fireteams. Took me about an hour, via the official app, to actually find a Blind Well team that worked, and even then you have to add each person to your friends list and then to your fireteam. Most people don't seem to realise this so once the fireteam is full on the app you just sit there.

Urgh.

Saying that, we did a Tier 3, then Heroic activation so I got the Seed of Light I was looking for. Also got to see Mara So in her little throne room (which I totally didn't expect) and a second Seed meaning all my abilities are now unlocked. Yay!

Tried the Nightfall with a different group but got completely mullered by the final boss :(

Good man :toot: I'll never vouch for Harmony being among the very best 'vanias but I still have such a soft spot for it. And bahaha aye, that blur would be a bit disconcerting in person D:

It acting like a prick was because the game file was corrupted or something. Here they are, totally worth the wait and definitely deserving of all the build up I gave them
