I'm currently playing... two games at once! Multitasking FTW!

So I sat down to play Spider-Man on PS4 and noticed the battery on the controller was getting low so I decided to plug it into my monitor's USB port (there was a micro USB cable already in the port, so it seemd like the simplest course of action). I only noticed when I stopped playing the game and switched the input on the monitor back to my PC that it was running a game of its own! The game? Windlands, which funnily enough is kind of a Spider-Man VR game (playable on a flat screen as well).
I guess when I pressed the menu button on the controller it brought up Big Picture mode in Steam? Then while playing Spider-Man I must have just pressed all the right buttons to manouver to Windlands and start it. I even made it past the main menu and into one of the three save slots.

Man Sonic 3 and Knuckles got a lot more enjoyable for me once I got to the 'Sonic and Knuckles' Zones. Some of the best levels I've been through in any Sonic games. Currently at the Death Egg Zone, taking a break after multiple tries. It's a frustrating but satisfying challenge.

Back on with Xenoblade Chronicles 2, somewhere in chapter 7....... I'm just cracking on with the story now, in the hope that when I do reach the end I can level up via the inn system and beat the final boss with ease :)

Far Cry 5 - Some fun to be had as usual in Far Cry, but the environment feels less interesting than previous games, same with the plot and characters. Also found a few frustrating bits of game design with the flying missions and a bunker mission both almost killing my interest in the game! Will carry on for now, but not sure I'll see this through to the end...

Sonic and Knuckles is the only one I like. It's a decent game.

Managed to get all 130 emblems on Sonic Adventure DX on 360... Which unlocked metal sonic, so went ahead and did all of his emblems and scored another achievement.

Still got missions to do but think I'll play other games to give it a little rest, I love the game though. (not much as SA2B though)

It's just shame that XBLA/PSN of both Adventure games are infertor for Chao garden because you even can't swap them around between games and there's even less breeds. Still fun, just if you want depth go GameCube (or modded PC version).

Had a go on that there Battlefield V beta.

Load of bollocks. Psychic snipers and teleporting war-machines vs me, a man with a barely functioning rifle and apparently a neon sign on his head.

It just felt like the people coming directly from BF1 had an enormous advantage. Or maybe they were simply blessed with God given powers of foresight. Either way, it was the usual spawn, die, wait, spawn, die achieve nothing nonsense.

I loved me a bit of Battlefield 3 and 1943, and V is indeed very pretty. But it's simply not fun. The most enjoyment I got out of it was sitting back as a sniper just watching the chaos.

Then I died.

Apart from PUBG I'm playing a lot of DAYZ.

I'm gonna pop a diary entry with screenshots into the DAYZ thread at lunch time but summing up things I love this. It's everything I wanted it to be. It's UI is fiddly and needs to be fixed and there's a bug which means you can't carry as much as you should (which I believe will be fixed today) but the underlying game is exhilarating.

Shoot a Z in a town and prepare to die as all he Z's from the area will descend on you sharpish, I found this out the hard way. I now kill them with an Axe if I have to. Military bases have all the best kit but they are very popular too and everyone shoots on sight. I lost a lot of stuff while just walking around, I died, no sound, no bullets just died. No doubt a sniper with a silencer shot me. I respawned and was a little annoyed but because I'd had a week with a character and got used to things I was up and running in about half an hour, I had a handgun, backpack and truthfully enjoyed looting around the towns, not least because its all looks so gorgeous and runs near a constant 60fps.

The draw distance is so vast that a mate of mine notices some blocks of flats on top of a hill in the distance (we were in the same server) and I seen them too so we set about meeting up and we did! Two of us moved down towards a military base and seen a player running about. The fear and dread when we walked through the woods towards that player was like something I rarely felt in games, death in this means so much. We eventually realized he logged off or must have because he wsa nowhere to be seen but we treat every town and city cautiously, meticulously searching houses and shouting out if we see folk, we've met a few folk with not a lot of loot and let them be, but we've vowed to kill anyone in a military base on sight because it seems that's how it has to be.

You haven't killed everyone on sight?

You're a goddamn hero

What you /really/ want to do is to get some handcuffs, hold up a character, cuff them and then order them into places ahead of you as bait.

The only time I got close to killing someone was when some dude kept following me around and I told him to go away, I don't think he knew I had bullets in my gun so followed me until I got annoyed and shot at his feet, he ran away as fast as he could lol.

We're planning on tieing up someone when we come across them, by next weekend, should be 4 of us walking about. Still won't kill new spawns though, no point.

Sounds good

Another fun DayZ play: get a couple of walkie talkies, leave one turned on lying around in a military base (or somewhere popular), watch over it from afar with a sniper and call people towards it.

Dishonored 2 with Emily, in full chaos. It's fun. Domino seems ridiculous!

I've been playing Sonic Adventure DX and Dishonored on my Xbox one, good weekend of playing.

Want to go back to some Switch games but I think that can wait till I've beaten last DLC of Dishonored, as I'm on Dishonored kick. I want to get second game but I'm holding off because I actually need to save money :(

Episode 1 has been fully completed, all gems found, bonus challenges done, target times met etc. It's good fun and it's nice to have a game to just dip in and out of.

Looking forward to Episode 2.

Polished off E2 tonight. Time trials were a little easier IMO.

I decided to tick a few games off my PS+ backlog so yesterday I played through Another World and started Hue which so think I’m around halfway through. I’m enjoying it so far but the colour switching puzzles are getting a little complex now.

Been playing SNK Heroines for the Switch, yeah it's certainly something else indeed. Fighting is simple, easy and pretty fun, just a shame there's a lack of characters, modes and stages.

Brerlappin wrote:The combat really is dreadful in Bioshock. Its not just that the base gunplay is poor (poor feedback, poor aiming, guns just dont "feel" right), but the constant need to play pipemania to hack a turret or sentry bot and thus give yourself any kind of advantage, slows the pace of every firefight down to absolutely glacial proportions. Theres also absolutely no reason why you should have to choose between using plasmids or guns, it jsut limits what you can do. And the "one two punch" of zap em, den wack em, as Atlas would say, is yet again just slowed down by and made fiddly by having to switch between plasmids and guns for your one-two.

Believe me, i say this as someone who finished Bioshock about 7 or 8 times and though of it as my favourite game of all time circa 2007-8. Its just a game that better in nostalgia than in actuality.

Started playing Bio1 for the first time tonight and yeah I'm finding this absolutely to be the case. The combat really doesn't flow elegantly at all and the bullet sponge enemies lead to a clunky war of attrition. I'm on hard difficulty, in which I love the limited resources but don't love the long enemy health bars.

My god the atmosphere is stunningly realised though, it hooked me in right away! Plus, though I'm not sure how much the Remastered version has changed things, the visuals are still utterly stunning and hold up a treat in 4k. I'm primarily enjoying it as a horror game, which it has been very effective at so far...although realising you can respawn without much consequence has diminished the tension somewhat

Played more last night and am happy to say I've gone back on this a bit, mainly as options have opened up. Taking great joy in tricking Big Daddies to fight each other along with the myriad of hacking+mind control options. In other words, having others do the work for me :P

My propensity to hack does mean I'm playing a lot of Pipemania, the novelty of which is just enough to make up for the repetition...for now.

Done some more Shadow of Mordor, still enjoying it. Combat is a lot more fun now that I've unlocked a lot of the abilities, did the sword mission earlier in the fighting pit and managed to do the entire thing in one hit streak which felt pretty badass.

I'm finding I'm having a similar problem to AC Black Flag though in that all the side stuff is so easy to get embroiled in that I've not done all that much of the main story yet, to the point that I've already unlocked all the ability tiers because I've been hunting so many captains.

Also got back into FE Fates Conquest, the story seems a lot more bullshit than Birthright but the maps are way more interesting.
