Space Hulk is a balls-hard board game to begin with, so I imagine playing against an inscrutable AI makes it even worse; you can't call it a shitnozzle for killing one of your guys or threaten to pack up the game and take it home... :shifty:

Never played it before so didn't know what to expect. I think if I knew more about it I'd have a better understanding of what to do, but I don't have the time to invest. I can't pack up and take the board home, but I can delete the mother strawberry floater.

Anyway, now playing Mad Max. [emoji1] [emoji1]

Persona 5 (PS4) - Fantastic, I prefer the cast of 4 I think but the core gameplay is much better.

The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild (Switch) - Still  Spend most of my time on it exploring, only done two of the Divine Beasts so far.

I'm always intrigued when folk start the mighty Max. Will they, like me, be astounded by the vast scale and excellent atmosphere... or will they think "no bruh, it's well boring!"?

We'll soon find out!

My initial thoughts are that it is not boring, but likewise, I'm not blown away by it. From what I've played I think I will enjoy it, but it will just be in the pile of "good third person action games" and not challenge for anything more than that.

To quote Videogamer, its one of the best 7/10 games in recent years. It absolutely belongs on that pile because it is mostly derivative but nails the atmosphere and style of the source material without being a shitty film tie-in.

It was my personal GOTY for 2015. I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned that here before... :shifty:  . I would definitely play it all through again one day  .

Crash Bandicoot 2 on PS1 via PS3. After finishing the first one I thought I'd carry on with the series. I've played this before but I'm not sure I ever finished it. One good point is they fixed one of the most annoying flaws in the original since checkpoints now record the number of boxes you've broken making gem collecting far less frustrating.

Agreed. I played it for maybe 10 hours and I loved it. Wasn't bothered about the"story" but it was really fun customising the car and chasing down the enemy convoys. I spent most of my play time in the first area though so I feel like I might have missed out on some of the cool storms, of which I only saw a couple, and other environments but by that point I'd had my fill and didn't feel the need to play anymore. VG nailed it with that comment.

I really liked Mad Max. It doesn't do anything super well, but it's a solid game.

Nonsensical post game aside Mad Max was a good game if nothing spectacular. I think "best 7/10 game" is a fair assessment.

I should give Mad Max another go, I liked it but didn't really have the motivation to play it at length, perhaps echoing the comments here of it being a decent if not spectacular game.

Probably didn't help that I had played MGS5 beforehand, making it a step down in polish and controls (+ lack of 80s music playlist).

I gave up on Mad Max after just a few hours. May go back someday but not likely for ages if ever.

I'm about 3-4 hrs into Horizon at the mo having just bought it. It's very Tomb Raider meets The Witcher isn't it

I went back to playing Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, found an old 30+ hour save on my Vita so dived back in. Just opened up the 6* village quests. I honestly think this could be my favourite game of all time. I absolutely adore every thing about it even though I've only ever played it solo.

I purchased that a couple years back, only played it for an hour or so and then moved onto something else. I will return to it one day.

I'm currently playing Ghost Recon: Wildlands. It's not a great game but still a lot of fun to be had in co-op. Turn the HUD off, put it on Extreme difficulty, and then put the Predator/Sicario soundtrack on in the background. Good times 8-)

Also playing Bully: Scholarship Edition. Mechanically it might be a bit outdated in certain parts but it's still a great game. Just got to Winter

Would love to see a sequel announced!

Binary Domain
Pretty good so far. Satisfying to blow the 'scrap-heads' to strawberry float and it all looks nice enough. Only gripes so far are; my team mates constantly walking in front of me when I'm firing, and when I move away from them they follow me and walk in my line of fire again...please stop doing that; and then just as you're getting into navigating the environment and clearing one area and moving onto the next, you get interrupted with a cut scene or boss. I wish it would just let me a have a decent run of running and gunning, without constant interruptions.

Kerbal. I'm picking up new things each time I play. Managed to send a rocket up and sort of slingshot it round kerbin, getting deeper into space than ever before. Got very close to the orbit pattern of mun. Pod exploded on return, which was regrettable.

I have no idea how I even did that. Going to try and replicate it.

Call of Duty IW: Zombies

So the second DLC just dropped this morning for PS4. Four more MP maps and a new Zombie map - Shaolin Shuffle (endearing, funky blaxploitation 70s 'Noo Yawk' setting, complete with Afro'd rollerskating zombies, Kung Fu and Pam Grier (Jackie Brown herself) - yay!). I'm a Season Pass holder for the game (as with most of the other CoD games) so I could get hold of the new content first thing. It's fun. Fun in the same way most new zombies maps are: superficially just another infinite horde mode, but in reality a complex, difficult objective-based multilayered mission.

I do admire the way zombie missions are put together - if it wasn't for YT I wouldn't know about the other 95% of stuff built into these maps - stuff I never actually see. I tend to play the maps as basic score-based shooters and I've never done the 'easter eggs' on these Zombie maps (none of them), but I love knowing that so much content lies just beneath should I ever wish to try and tackle it.

Lumo - PS Vita

Im really enjoying this I have to say. I played Solstice on the NES when I was a kid but I could never make any headway with it, due to it being a hard game and me being a useless child. Lumo is very much a spiritual successor to that game. Theres nothing earth shattering here, you go from room to room solving puzzles but its a solid game with some charm and the difficulty curve, so far at least, has been pretty spot on.

Crash Bandicoot 3 for PS1 on PS3. Carrying on the theme I've established over the last week or so I'm clearing (part of) a backlog of PS1 games I've had on my PS3's hard drive untouched for years. Just finished the first world and so far it's fun and doesn't seem quite as frustrating as the previous two... yet.
