I really wanted to like WoFF because I *love* the art style  , but the demo didn't do it for me. Will give it another bash at some point.

Will give it a go at some point!

WoFF is like My First Final Fantasy crossed with My First Pokemon, but the chibi characters and art style make for a pleasant experience. I've taken a few screenshots of the 'mirages' (Pokemon) that you collect as the descriptions are pretty funny, but my Switch is acting like a prick and hanging every time I try to post them.

It acting like a prick was because the game file was corrupted or something. Here they are, totally worth the wait and definitely deserving of all the build up I gave them

Thank you! :D

I bought Steven Universe: Save the Light in the PSN sale yesterday and my daughter's played it for a couple of hours already. It's an RPG with a mix of real-time and turn based combat and is pretty much just the cartoon in playable format, which is no bad thing!

I'm not watching that because i want to get there myself eventually, but i can only imagine their surreal take on modern internet culture.

Finally joined a clan in Destiny which is an odd sensation as, besides you lot, I don't really do much socialising via the old interwebs. They seem a decent bunch however. Took me ages to finally choose one to message as so many seem to be groups of ladsladslads trolling out Pepe images and talking about cocks. This one was specifically positioning itself as non-toxic and, to my surprise and pleasure, seems to be run by a woman and has a decent male/female split. Been yucking it up with them on Discord today, will hopefully get to raid with them on Saturday as the wife is away at a conference.

Playing The Fractured But Whole on Switch. Smyth's are selling it for 15 pounds so I couldn't resist. I'm really enjoying it, just wish there were not so many loading screens.

Finally did my first raid in Destiny 2 last night: Leviathan.

6 hours. 6 strawberry floating hours it took. We started at around 8 and I finally got to bed at around 2 in the bastard morning.

Saying that, it was one of the most interesting experiences I've had with any game in a long time. I'd never done anything like it before, save one or two early raids when WoW first launched but they were nothing like this. Each task required almost pinpoint accuracy from all members which led to a fair amount of frustration but equal levels of satisfaction when we finally strawberry floating beat each one.

I can definitely see why people say this stuff is the best content in the game, as it absolutely was. God knows when we'll get around to doing The Last Wish but I don't think it'll be soon...I need time to recover.

Did you go in blind, Taf? Was it everyone's first run?

We didn't go in blind back when it came out, but the bloody dogs took us ages, trying to get that perfect blend of coordination, damage and communication. Then the second or third time we did it, we breezed through on a less-than-stellar run. It was remarkable how much easier it was. Saying that, because I was playing with xlanmates back in the UK, for that first attempt I had to get up at 5am on a Saturday morning here. We were still playing it at midday.

I really like Leviathan. I think it helps that it was the first raid I completed on or around the launch period. The first two I did months after when my power level was lower. I never finished King's Fall and didn't even attempt Wrath of the Machine. I hope they eventually port then over to D2 but it's unlikely.

Leviathan is actually considered the weakest raid, excluding Crota's End maybe, so you should be in for a treat if you get a chance to do the others.

The two raid lairs are well worth doing too.

I'd had a brief look at some How Tos but they obviously weren't enough! The team had varying degrees of experience, with the experienced ones being those who were having problems unfortunately. Saying that, the guy who came in as a replacement had done it around 20 times so he became the defacto leader.

It was the Gauntlet that took us the longest I think. One of the members wanted to try a strat of two teams of 3 rather than someone on each plate and this just didn't work (I think it's an advanced strategy from what I've read, and we weren't ready for it). After that the Gardens were a royal pain in the arse. The final boss wasn't that bad but by that point everyone was so tired some silly mistakes were made (I for example, called out "Dog!" even though the symbol on show was the Sun).

It was really fun though, and cemented in my mind that the clan I chose is a good one. The unfortunate thing is I'm not sure when I'll have time to Raid again...the wife was away this weekend which gave me a huge chunk of time to piss away doing online challenges with strangers!

Your experience sounds much the same as mine, Taf, but without the satisfaction of actually seeing it to the end!

There were a few of us who played it over the course of a week or so, with others dropping in and out to make up the team when we could make it. I missed the session when they finally took the big dude down

Those bloody dogs just about did me in and I never want to hear *clapclap* again.

Defo recommended not having your other half around when you play it again though - mine found shouting out random things at the 'dog/shield/sun etc.' bit to be great fun, much to the annoyance of me and everyone else on the team.

See, I don't think any of us realised you could quit raids and save progress (I'm still not sure how it works). If we'd known there's no way we'd have made it to the end, so ignorance really was bliss in this case!

The clan did Eater of Worlds last night, and finished it off in 2 hours so I might see if we can do that next week.

I've not played in a while but it used to save progress by the encounter so you just restart at whatever boss or puzzle you managed to get to last.
It's an ok system and logical enough.

I've only done a little bit of gaming during the past couple of weeks, but... oh boy, here goes:

> Fallout 76 (PS4) - Yes... there are problems and the game doesn't feel "finished". The robots / audio logs aren't as interesting as meeting characters and, for me, directions on how things work is lacking. Fighting and aiming with guns is awkward and tricky; VATS aiming barely seems to work. Building is good and bad; lots of creativity but it seems remarkably difficult to re-build your home in a new location as it never seems to "fit" (thankfully this is to be made easier in the next patch through the introduction of a land-levelling capabiiity). Overall, it is pretty clunky.

But.. but!... when it clicks, it's great. Exploration is wonderful; a vast, intricate landscape that looks good and has real height and depth to it. The sense of being "alone" is terrific. When you do meet other players, things vary; I've bumped into a high-level plonker who was shooting at me and trying to get me to fight with him by walking in front of me for a while (I just fast-traveled away) but I hooked up with another higher-level player and we had a great time teaming-up to tackle some super-mutants in a town.

Despite the clunkiness, I still see potential in this and I hope that Bethesda improves upon the current version; and I think that they will.

> Pokemon Let's Go! (Switch) - This is the first time I've played a Pokemon game and this feels like a great place to start for newcomers to the series. It's a lot of fun journeying through the vibrant towns, meeting folk and battling a range of Pokemon. The music is varied and excellent. I like being able to put different outfits on my character and my lead Pokemon (Pikachu, so obvs I've bought the wrong version etc ;) ). I felt like I was taking a bit of a gamble buying this game but I've been pleasantly surprised so far!

Fallout: New Vegas
Enjoying this a lot. At this stage I’m barely following the main plot, and if I’m honest I’m not even sure what it is / where I’m at in it. I’ve so many quests active that I don’t know which is the ‘main’ one anymore. I’m just having a good time exploring and doing side-quests. I can see me playing this for a long time, as I feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface. A few annoying glitches so far, one with a quest point not activating, but it’s Bethesda, so no surprise it’s shitty like that.

Nail’d
Nearly at the end of this. Have been plugging away at it for a while, on and off, and I think I’ve got 5 or 6 races left. It’s decent enough, but is lacking in a few areas (and has too much in other areas, i.e. number of races/events) which affects the overall experience.

Steamworld Dig
I kind of like this, but it doesn’t grab me in the way I thought it would. I play for perhaps 15-20 mins at a time before I get bored and can’t be arsed anymore. I keep going back to it, but I find it only holds my attention for very short bursts.

GRID 2
On the final season of this. Again, feels like there’s too much content for my level of time/patience with games these days. There are some real frustrations, but I do enjoy the racing for most of the time, so will see it through to the end. Very much a ‘play a bit, come back to it a few weeks later’ kind of game.

FEAR
I don’t think I’ve ever played a game where I have so little interest in the plot. I’m several hours in and couldn’t tell you what’s going on at all. “Following some guy through seemingly-endless warehouses and offices” is about as good as I could do. That being said, it’s reasonably enjoyable to just go through it all killing everyone in sight in slow-motion. Doesn’t hold my interest for long though, so I’m going through it in perhaps 30 minute sessions.

Still plodding along with my ps3 backlog.

I didn’t have the will to start Sonic 4 : episode 2 & I’m currently shooting bullets through nazis heads, through their body & out of their arses (by far my best kill) in Sniper Elite V2.

Tis a glorious game.

Iconoclasts on PS4 courtesy of PS+. This is a decent Metroidvania game in terms of how it looks and plays but the story is becoming increasingly nonsensical the further I get into it.

Slay the Spire

Normally I avoid card battle games like the plague as they're usually very much multiplayer affairs (its also still Early Access too) but having seen it was a singleplayer rogue-like that I could actually play I decided to give it a bash.

It's great and I can see myself sinking hours into it, it has that 'jut one more go' quality to it and the rogue-like aspect means no two games are the same.

It seems very polished and well presented, which given its Beta/Early Access status, is very reassuring.

It's Obsidian, Bethesda just published, but yes it's still their engine :P

Glad you're enjoying it! The main plot is definitely worth following through (with whichever way you choose to take it), but is also best resolved at the end of your time with the game so that you'll have met all the factions etc (you get pushed to do this anyway if you haven't). Did you reach New Vegas itself yet?
