I'm making slow but steady progress in The Surge. I'm not a huge fan of the upgrade system however. The materials needed to improve your gear seem needlessly rare so far unless I'm doing something wrong.

I always wanted to play this but somehow never got around to it. I picked it up cheap a couple of weeks ago though and have been steadily going through it. A few hours in, and it's good. Took a while to get it running at its best on a modern PC, but when I did it's pretty enjoyable.

You little bugger. RTCW is a mega plex of origami, you young bugger, enjoy the taste. Leather sluts and a fat bitch. Yes, sexism, But the gameplay is strawberry floating bang on and you, might get a fat wank on from all the leather/pvc german ladies but suck on those labbies and it's all good.

If that quote had been on the box or something I may have played it earlier. High praise indeed.

Absolver.

A great martial arts game. Excellent combat whilst being technically challenging with it. Lovely art style as well. As a complete package Absolver reminds me of Bushido Blade in some respects.

Saints Row 3. This game should be better than SR2. But it really isn't.

I think I might have open world fatigue.

Torchlight II - PC
Only a couple of hours into this but its pretty great. I loved the first one but kinda fell off it after a bit. Hopefully I stick with this and actually see it through.

Or, you are playing a game that just isn't as good as 2? Cause it isn't. The end is epic though.

XCOM2:War of the Chosen

A definite improvement to the base game but the difficulty level has ramped up ridiculously as a result of some utterly fiendish new enemy types, I also regret leaving the alien hunters DLC enabled as one of the 'ruler' aliens (the beserker) showed up at the worst possible moment and killed 3 of my 5 soldiers.

The Chosen themselves are fairly interesting but my favourite new addition is the Lost which turns the game into sci-fi Walking Dead.

At the end of month 2 of my year long challenge and the state of play at the moment is

Played
Horizon Zero Dawn - Finished it towards the end of the month (just in time for Everybody's Golf). Took around 60 odd hours and was a lot of fun. I'm wondering whether the challenge actually contributed to finishing the game, there was a point around 5-6 hours in where I wasn't quite feeling (too many weapons, too many things to do, too many places to go in the open world, the usual problems I have with open world games) it but I probably would have stuck with it anyway. I'm happy to hold off on the DLC until the year is up so I'm going to swap it out.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate - Somewhere around 50 odd hours in and still plugging away. Up to 5* village quests so probably should focus on getting my HR ranking up a bit now. Still not played online.

Everybody's Golf - Just started it, so similar to the earlier ones (which is a great thing). Enjoying a lot.

So the list of games at the moment

Horizon Zero Dawn Everybody's Golf
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
Stardew Valley
Legend of Zelda: BOW
Resident Evil 7
Witcher 3
Spare
Spare

I'm pretty certain the MH4U won't last me the year as my only handheld game (getting a strong urge to buy Undertale) so that'll be one of the spare slots taken. I've also pre-ordered Skyrim VR so that's another. And I've got Steep still in the wrapper and I got Uncharted LL with my recent PS4 Pro purchase. Gonna need to platinum one of the existing list...

The Sexy Brutale. IT IS strawberry floating BRILLIANT. The cleverest game I've played since Virtue's Last Reward, and it has a similar mechanic of using things previously learnt, as the clock rewinds every 12 game hours.

Maybe that's it. I think it might also be because I've played 4 as well. I miss the Crackdown style stuff they introduced to that game (super jumping).

I plan to go through 4 soon. It's been a few years since I played these.

I personally prefer 3 to 4, but I do think Saints Row 2 is best of them lot honestly.

Also been playing everybody's golf on ps4, loving it. Do think I prefer PS3 version but still great fun nonetheless

I'm rekindling my online mp malarkey.

So I've started off in 3 online games to try to git gud.

Halo 5 Arena season has just started and I'm 2 games in, 1 loss and 1 win. The loss was slayer and they won 50-47 so not too bad, got 10 kills. The win was CTF, 2-0 up to 2-2 then won 3-2.

Gears of War 4 Dove into social and got mullered halfway into match. Tried matchmaking instead and although it took 2-3mins to find matches I did quite well, 4 kills in first game and 6 in another.

Overwatch Started off season, lost 2/1 despite taking the lead, I was the healer chick till other team focused on attacking me.

Battlefield 1 The 4 new maps have been added and although visually impressive 2 are quite open and flat, a haven for snipers. One map with cathedral in the middle is hectic as f*ck!

Rocket League still plugging away getting angry at players not defending.

Looking at adding Rainbow 6 Siege to my online Rota at the weekend.

I chill in between online games with Recore, an amazing game.

One of the best Final Fantasy games ever. Heck, I don't even mind Vaan all that much (he's more pointless than annoying), nor the fact all the characters sound like they've got a cold or something. Yup, I'm glad I gave FFXIITZA a chance.

I never really liked Daytona USA that much, It was fairly decent as an arcade game but like most other arcade racers there wasn't a great deal of content to sustain repeated play in the home console version.

I never felt like games such as the original Ridge Racer or Sega Rally were worth the asking price and only actually played them either at a friends house or years after release when they were dirt cheap.

I love Dayonta USA but yeah I don't think I'd pay full price for it. Was more into Virtua Fighter at time which has more replayablw factor imo.

XBL version is good price, howeber

Yeah, it was about £1.50 in the weekly xbox deals so thought it was worth a punt at that price.

Aww I adore Daytona, if I ever load up my 360 these days it's usually for that. Short of course but immensely charming and replayable. Wish they'd ported it to PC
