Still Fist of the North Star Ken's Rage. I hit a bit of a brick wall in the end boss of Toki's campaign so played through Mamiya's last night instead. Despite not being a fighter as such Mamiya was so overpowered. Her crossbow attacks made short work of almost any enemies, even bosses.

I played bit of Fallout 4 last night.

Is this game hard or am I just gooseberry fool and/or playing it wrong?

I don't really know what I'm supposed to be doing. Not helped by the fact I've played it about 3 times over a 6 month period.

I'm level 9.

Every gun I have seems to be as much use a pea shooter. Pretty much every enemy I come across walks through my gun fire and then kills me with a few hits. I die a lot. Nearly as much as Halo on legendary.

Tips please.

Decide what kind of weapons you want to use and stay focused on them. I chose pistols and rifles then mainly selected perks that improved my prowess with those weapon types. Also think about what kind of character you want to play as and again stick with perks that assist that path. My character wasn't a powerhouse rather I was good at hacking, talking my way out of things and when the gooseberry fool hit the fan I was handy with a couple of weapon types and could fight my way out if necessary.

Use VATS (the time slow thing) pretty much 99% of the time when dealing with enemies, also stick to the main missions for a bit, you may have strayed into a rock hard area. If you can find a building you can enter, loot the sh*t out of it as ammo can be in short supply if you don't. OR don't kill the cow farmer lady and buy it from her from start area - forget what its called.

Restarted the whole campaign from scratch as it was obvious that I'd got into an unbeatable situation.

Edit: FFS, I've done it again.

Divinity Original Sin 2

After seeing nothing but glowing reviews I figured I'd give it a shot.

I hate this game.

On "classic" mode, explicitly described as being Normal, it is impossibly difficult. In the starting area I can best your basic animal mobs but anything that walks upright kills me without effort. In one fight, which I have yet to find a way around, the enemy simply boosts themselves to the top of the initiative order every turn so my characters never get to go. They wiped me out in two rounds. Another has me fighting a boss character surrounded by at least 5 other "Master" level enemies.* Again, this is the starting area. I have tried for 3 hours this morning to get out of, yes, the starting area totally without success.

I don't mind hard games. Dark Souls/Bloodbourne are good because they punish poor play, they don't cheat. Here, I cannot fathom a way my current party could leave the area I'm in. This, in case I haven't gotten this across, is the starting area.

I bounced hard off the first game due to it's art style and wackiness. I come away from this one hating the way this dev makes games. Urgh

*I do not know of any areas I can farm in order to increase my level either. This is not that sort of RPG.

I had similar trouble with the first game in that series; Divine Divinity. If you wandered slightly too far from the starting town the monsters became far too difficult and would just one shot you.

resident evil 4 ps4 edition.

Probably 6 years ago since last playing, and that was on wii, it controls weirdly, still prefer the wii controls.

Destiny 2 - PS4
Secret World Legends - PC
Batman: Arkham Asylum - Xbox 360

Sunday evening I'll begin PCars 2. Decided to buy a physical copy for the PS4 Pro rather than digitally for the PC as with PCars 1.

Worst thing about the Wii version, it looks like total balls on a modern TV. The resolution is crap.

Lego Batman 2 - PC

I realised i had installed a load of lego games but never got round to most of them so thought i'd give this a try. Its interesting seeing their first go at voice acting and open world design compared to the compartmental design of previous games with a connecting overworld. Its a fun little comic romp which i'm happy to play through once and be done with, i haven't got the time or inclination to 100% any game let alone the massive arrays of stuff lego games put in to do for the sake of it.

I've tried a few Lego games now and I hate them all, horrible nonsensical puzzles to stop progress.

I’m playing Lego Marvel at the minute, it’s great in co-op with someone who isn’t technically gifted at games. Easily the best Lego game so far.

Started PCars 2. It's very good, although I am going to have to drag the wheel out - which is a pain as it's set up with the PC in the games room. Took an age to calibrate a standard controller as out of the box it is practically unplayable. Once you've found a solid set up, reduced the difficulty and applied a few assists the game is sound, but I can see many being put off using the controller default settings.

I understand why this was an issue with the previous game, however now that Slightly Mad have brought PCars to console you would have thought they'd have better optimised standard controllers for the sequel.
